🚨SEND A LETTER: Investigate health workers who joined the IOF🚨 In 2025, my workplace brought a highest-level professionalism complaint against me for my Palestine advocacy – without providing a single concrete example of misconduct. When I applied for my annual license renewal, I had to disclose this to the college that regulates doctors along with a detailed letter from my lawyer, not knowing if I would face barriers renewing my medical license. Meanwhile, doctors who take leaves to "serve" in the Israeli military face no institutional screening or required regulatory disclosure when they return – even though that military is committing genocide. This double standard in medical regulation cannot stand. Demand that Canadian health regulators hold all members accountable and that they investigate health workers who participate in militaries accused of human rights violations. Send a letter here: cjpme.org/no_idf_healthcare
Take action! Since the beginning of the genocide, a number of Canadian-licensed health workers and educators have taken approved leaves of absence to serve in the Israeli military.

It was a lie, @SylviaJonesMPP
Sabrina is 31 years old and has a rare cancer. She needs a special, proven treatment that’s not available in our province - and she's been rejected for it. Today we learned the Ontario government’s own doctors recommended that she be funded to get it, only to be overruled by the Ministry of Health. Here’s the kicker: For weeks, @SylviaJonesMPP has claimed the rejections were made by doctors, not politicians. Now we know that's not true. Fix it, Sylvia.

The disruption makes it look as if the Libs are a little worried about Avi. 😁 @j_maloney Why would that be?
Avi Lewis CBC interview gets interrupted by the Finance Minister Avi handles his own VERY well. I think this move by Carney's minister shows they're worried about Lewis' narrative being heard by Canadians

Bravo to U.S. Democrats for their sweeping victory last night! It was an epic rejection of Trump’s corruption and impunity, of his unjust tariffs, of an economy rigged for the rich. A new generation of left populist leaders is rising to share the wealth and win a dignified life for all. And that’s not all. Last night’s midterms were a shot across the bow of Big Tech. Across the country, voters passed a string of local bans and restrictions on data centres. Elon Musk spent $200 million just in Texas to defeat Democrat James Talarico. His money couldn’t buy the results he wanted. There are cautionary tales here for our own Prime Minister. PM Carney is all in on AI and data centres. He’s all in on fossil fuels, which are driving inflation and the cost of living. He has refused to oppose the Iran war. Americans rejected this agenda last night. Canadians share a lot of these concerns. They are the money. We are the many. And last night, the many showed we can win. That's reason for hope in these terrifying times.

It's time for nation-building projects for the people. Ahead of the 2026 Budget, we're calling on the Liberals to prioritize three big projects that will lower costs and make life better for millions of families, paid for by a wealth tax on the 1%. • Make a down payment to build a network of 50 public grocery stores. • Triple the federal government's community housing investment to build one million non-market homes for people. • Make a nation-building investment in health care, including funding pharmacare from coast to coast to coast. Read my full letter to Prime Minister Carney.

Is he just so narcissistic he can’t imagine his “friends” (wherever) being wrong re AI? He is supposed to be extremely intelligent BUT this interview comes with months of dire warnings about AI. So highly narcissistic & perhaps smacking of “leopard won’t eat my face.” Reckless.
Carney said he's using an executive from an American Tech giant to “transform government” using AI

Liberal MPs "straight-up lying" to constituents?! Inconceivable!
Hey so Liberal MPs are straight-up lying to their constituents who raise concerns about what Bill C-39 does to the right to strike. Abhorrent levels of misleading information, sent directly to a constituent's inbox (who shared it with me). Really unethical, gross, and stupid.

MP Dr. Strauss is justified in highlighting the ongoing challenges of our opioid epidemic. I attend to opioid users pretty much daily. Let me outline the challenges: 👇👇👇 1. Some patients flatly refuse suboxone. That's pretty common. 2. Many patients have used opioids very recently and just aren't candidates for suboxone. 3. Like Dr. Azar said, they're homeless and there are no shelters. I'm sending the gambler right back into the casino. 4. There are no detox beds. 5. There are no medical detox beds. 6. Off banker's hours in ER there's just nurses and ER doctors - that's when a lot of patients come. Holding them until the morning in ERs bursting at the seams is not tenable. 7. There is not one magic cure for all patients. There's no silver bullet. Some need OAT (Kadian, Suboxone, Methadone) and yes, some with wrap-around support need safe supply (I don't prescribe that). If I was to pick one magic silver bullet to all of this - it is unquestionably to me, as an experienced ER doctor - housing. Stable housing. This is 100% apolitical and we should be able to agree on this. @strauss_matt
What if I told you there was a medication that could reduce the risk of dying from an opioid overdose to roughly ZERO. Most Canadians have never heard of it. It’s called buprenorphine. At the Health Committee, I questioned Dr. Pouya Azar, an addiction medicine specialist with frontline experience treating substance use disorders, about this life-saving treatment. Buprenorphine reduces opioid cravings and withdrawal symptoms, helping those struggling with addiction stabilize their lives and begin recovery. Dr. Azar testified that this treatment is basically 100% effective at preventing death by opioid overdose. This raises a serious question about the Liberal government’s approach to Canada’s opioid crisis. Why has so much attention and funding been directed toward ideologically-driven “safe supply” programs while Canadians continue to face barriers accessing evidence-based addiction treatment? Canadians deserve answers about why treatments like buprenorphine are not more widely accessible. If we’re serious about addressing Canada’s opioid crisis, we need to make evidence-based treatment and recovery a priority.

In UK & Canada, the beautiful simplicity of Bertrand Russell's statement on nationalism can be extended even further - ie a person who is perceived to be against nationalism in his own country is judged to be the worst type of enemy - ie the enemy within - and against him or her the worst form of atrocity and vileness can be legimately practised One only needs to look at the mindset of mainstream @BBC presenter, Stacey Dooley, who, on her exit from the Syrian camp where 1000s of women & kids are imprisoned, shrieked, 'You turned your back on democracy!', as the huge metal gates closed against the bemused faces of 100s of small, bedraggled children Those children are still there, 7-9 years on - still imprisoned as the offspring of those perceived to be the enemies of 'British values' - as if British values means imprisoning children and women, because, well, we don't like them very much and, as Bertrand Russell says, being proud of your country means you can legitimately practice vileness and atrocity against your enemies I speak to the mothers of these children. They, too, are bemused, despairing, depressed, angry, fearful, stagnating, forgotten. Their fate is in the hands of those who hate them. Where are our public intellectuals who say this is wrong? The Bertrand Russell's of our time? What explains the silence of the left, so preoccupied with the oppression in other parts of the world that it has no time to see the despair of its own people. imprisoned abroad bc countries like UK and Canada believe this is the most convenient place to dump our enemy within? @DalrympleWill @CraigMurrayOrg @owenjonesjourno I don't even know who to tag any more as this atrocious and vile situation has gone on for so long & most of my tags usually fall on very stoney ground. However, here's an attempt: @profbensaul @USAMBTurkiye @hind_kabawat @asaadhshaibani @lloydaxworthy @MargaretAtwood
“A person afflicted with nationalism believes that his own country is the most civilised and humane country in the world while its enemies are guilty of every imaginable atrocity and vileness. Since they are so vile and atrocious, while we are so civilised and humane, there is no degree of vileness and atrocity which we may not legitimately practise towards them. This is the underlying creed of nationalism.” ― Bertrand Russell

I have a small request to make from the whole world, regarding language: Let's stop using the term 'South Lebanon' or 'Southern Lebanon' when talking about Israel's actions and demands. There is no such thing. There is only Lebanon. Talking about South Lebanon is a huge Zionist win in political language: it creates the notion Israel is not attacking and occupying Lebanon, only 'South Lebanon', a cute little place that is not even a real part of actual Lebanon. Just a cute little bite. They are now doing 'Southern Syria' instead of Syria, for precisely the same purpose: to make it sound like this is not invasion and occupation, only a minor bureaucratic move. There is no south Lebanon and there is no West Bank or Gaza either. There is Palestine, which Israel is occupying in full. We need to de-Zionize language. Let's start with Lebanon. All of it deserves to be free, and none of it is free till all of it is free. Same as Palestine, and Syria.

This is how we do it. Lay a baseless groundwork of suspicion against brown people then support deadly US attacks.
Canada is laying the groundwork for a new round of US/Israeli violence against Iran. This week Ottawa claimed Iran is occupying UAE territory, suggested Iran was funding attacks in Canada and signed a security accord that could draw us into the aggression. On Wednesday Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada believes Iran is “occupying” the islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb. In a joint statement with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Canada’s Prime Minister backed UAE’s position claiming the three small, strategically important islands in the eastern Persian Gulf near the Strait of Hormuz were under Iranian “occupation”. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei denounced Ottawa’s “brazen and interventionist” position. For their part the Iranian Canadian Congress said it “strongly objects to the characterization of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb as UAE territories ‘under occupation’, a statement which undermines Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and risks further unlawful aggression against Iran.” Even hardline critics of the Iranian government also wrote articles, launched a petition and rallied in Toronto on Sunday against Canada’s position. Some of the opponents of the Islamic Republic pointed out that Ottawa didn’t publish any legal explanation for its support of UAE’s territorial claims over islands Iran has formally controlled since just before UAE’s 1971 creation and prior to the Islamic Republic. As Ottawa has put Iran’s territorial integrity into question, it has also portrayed a country bombed tens of thousands of times recently as an aggressor. A number of reports linked to Canada’s new National Security Strategy suggested Iran has been attacking Canada (in reality, Ottawa has severed relations, labeled Iran a state sponsor of terror, listed part of its army a terror group, seized its diplomatic assets and imposed dozens of rounds of sanctions in support of a long-standing Zionist/imperial campaign against Iran). On Tuesday CBC published “Why a spate of gun-for-hire shootings in Toronto were likely paid for by Iran. Attacks on Jewish, U.S. and anti-regime targets fit worldwide pattern of violence.” Despite the bold headline, there’s no evidence presented in the article linking Iran to the shootings. In a complaint to the CBC, Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East’s Media Accountability Project noted, “What is not established through the facts in the article is any concrete link to Iran.” (Does anyone believe Tehran benefits to the point of paying random individuals shooting up various institutions in Toronto?) Politically the CBC story served its purposes. In response, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre reiterated his call to deport Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) operatives and the claims also boosted the anti-Iran angle in coverage of Canada’s new National Security Strategy. Two days later the front of the Globe and Mail read: “Officials flag unprecedented security threats against Jewish community.” The third paragraph of an article tied to the release of the National Security Strategy mentioned “threats from Iran”. In another story this week, CSIS officials reportedly told Iran International they had “disrupted potentially lethal threats against people in Canada in multiple cases involving Iranian intelligence or proxies.” Concurrently, Liberal MPs Anthony Housefather and Judy Sgro told the House of Commons Iran was a threat and criminal. Housefather announced a parliamentary petition calling the Iranian government a danger to Canadians while Sgro spoke “in solidarity with the courageous people and political prisoners of Iran” and “the ‘no to execution Tuesdays’ campaign.” As politicians and media focused on Iran’s purported crimes, Canada hosted the leader of a deeply autocratic regional enemy that’s contributed significantly to violence in Sudan, Libya and Yemen. But there was little discussion of UAE monarch Mohamed bin Zayed’s repression and violence since the UAE is close to the US and Israel and has large wealth funds. The Carney government signed a trade accord, launched formal negotiations on an extradition treaty and deepened its military ties to a small state with significant US and Israeli soldiers present there. According to the official release, the Canada-UAE Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Defence Cooperation “modernises the Canada-UAE Defence Cooperation Arrangement for enhanced bilateral cooperation on defence, including military education and training, defence policy dialogue, joint exercises, defence industrial cooperation, cyber security, and information exchanges, while creating a Joint Military Committee to guide its implementation.” UAE has been an important player in the US/Israeli war on Iran and deepening military ties with the federation of seven emirates will draw Canada further into that violence. Through NORAD, officer exchanges, US overflights, arms sales, a base in Kuwait, etc., Canada has already been assisting the US military’s war on Iran. Expect full-scale aggression to restart after the US congressional elections. On Thursday the Associated Press reported that Washington told allies to prepare for a new round of violence while the Wall Street Journal reported that the head of the US military briefed Trump at the White House on his options for attacking Iran. Canada is deeply complicit.

They invited her to Berlin thinking she would praise them. Instead, she exposed their blood-soaked history. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie didn't hold back. She exposed the ultimate Western lie. They teach their kids to "help the poor Africans," but completely erase the fact that Belgium’s King Leopold turned the Congo into a personal slaughterhouse. Millions murdered. Hands chopped off for rubber. They don't teach the truth because the truth is a debt they can never repay. Watch this. Bookmark it. Teach your children who the real savages were.

"Canada cannot remain this timid, this morally indifferent, in the face of so much suffering." Still waiting for an explanation for the @liberal_party 's shameful & ongoing complicity in crimes against humanity. @j_maloney @AnitaAnandMP @MarkJCarney @CanadianPM
To the Prime Minister of Canada @MarkJCarney J 'Accuse Three years spent watching violence go unpunished can produce profound moral fatigue. The brain attempts to protect itself, oscillating between anger, grief, emotional numbing, and hypervigilance. After prolonged exposure to scenes of suffering without accountability, justice, or meaningful change, trust in institutions erodes. Such sustained exposure can amount to a deep moral injury, one whose psychological effects may endure long after the events themselves. Canada cannot remain this timid, this morally indifferent, in the face of so much suffering. Denounce the violations of the Gaza ceasefire. Send observers to assess the situation in the West Bank. Segregation? Apartheid? Damn it, do something.
