Anas is one of four students who has arrived safely to the UK to begin his studies. He was accepted to the @UAlberta Master of Science program and waited for more than 14 months for a response from the IRCC but has been left with complete silence.
Countries like the UK have created opportunities & pathways for students in Gaza to arrive safely and complete their education. @CitImmCanada must follow suite and find solutions to bring these students. We are losing top talented students due to unnecessary bureaucratic delays.

A coalition consisting of @PSSAR, MP @ElizabethMay, @IndJewishVoices, @wearehumaniti and Dr. Aaron Shafer from Trent University held a press conference calling out the Canadian government for its lack of action in bringing Palestinian students accepted into Canadian universities into Canada.
These students have already been accepted to prestigious Canadian universities and have been waiting for more than 2 years to begin their studies, yet no action has been taken to issue them their needed visas.

Jewish safety has often been invoked as a reason to reject Palestinian students from entering Canada. Which in itself is a form of anti-Palestinian racism. We recognize the government's responsibility to conduct legitimate security screening.
However, screening must be evidence-based, procedurally fair & completed within reasonable timelines. No student should be presumed to pose a threat simply because they were born in Gaza or attended a Palestinian university.
@CitImmCanada we demand for our students to be interviewed fairly and with respect.
Thank you to our MPs, organizers, and educators for standing alongside our students and advocating for their arrival so they can begin their studies.
@CitImmCanada has ignored our students for far too long, and we will not stand for it. Our students deserve answers, action, and the opportunity to pursue the education they have worked so hard for.
Coverage on our latest press conference highlighting the atrocities of the Canadian government. These delays cannot simply go on for any longer. @CitImmCanada We expect immediate action to be taken.

Other countries approve visas and enable evacuations of students.
Why are @GAC_Corporate & @CitImmCanada seemingly so inept?
