A Bonnie Tyler no le hacía falta ni música. Tengo especial cariño por los artistas que se van y que, en algún momento, nos han dado felicidad.

The EU has invited Taliban officials to Brussels to discuss a migration deal — and today I am shaken and deeply disturbed by this. This is the same Taliban that banned girls from secondary schools and forced them into marriage. The same Taliban that, earlier this month, arrested dozens of women in Herat for how they were dressed. The same Taliban that detains, beats and executes women who dare to speak out or break their rules. Through its system of gender apartheid, the Taliban have erased women and girls from public life. Europe must not legitimise a regime responsible for one of the worst human rights crises in the world. Any engagement with the Taliban must begin and end with the rights of Afghan women and girls.

Afghan woman is crying in unbearable pain. Her voice carries the pain of millions of women in Afghanistan. She says: “The Taliban fired at my heart and at my head because I demanded my rights, my education, and my freedom. They attacked us Afghan women, harassed us, and tried to silence us for raising our voices.” Her tears are not just tears, they are the cries of a nation’s daughters being abandoned by the world. Every tear she sheds tells a story of suffering, fear, and broken dreams. It is heartbreaking to witness women begging for their basic rights while the world remains silent. How much more pain must Afghan women endure before the world finally listens? Where is the United Nations? Where is the international community? Where is the EU? Why are you silent? The silence is heartbreaking. The silence is painful. The silence is dangerous. This silence is enabling normalization. I call on each of you: raise your voice. Stand for humanity. Stand for Afghan women’s rights. Stand for women’s and girls’ education. Stand against gender apartheid in Afghanistan. Silence in the face of oppression is complicity. The women and girls of Afghanistan must not be abandoned.

When the level of threat goes up as it has done in the last few years, then we have to make whatever adjustments are required to the rest of our spending to keep our people safe. At the end of the Cold War, we made assumptions about how dangerous we believed the world would be and we cut back on spending on defence and security releasing funds that we called “the peace dividend” into other areas and priorities.

If you need a lift today… have a listen to this. I chatted to Tony in the park in the sunshine and read him some of the comments from his singing last week. He was blown away and got a bit emotional ❤️ He thought this might help with everything going on in the world. The live audience was just Winnie and I but hopefully you can enjoy it too. Have a lovely Sunday.

HOLY SH*T: Rep. Jayapal just asked Epstein survivors at the DOJ oversight hearing to raise their hand if Trump's DOJ has not met with them. Every single victim raised their hand. Pam Bondi has failed the American people and must resign immediately. This is bad.

Just a reminder. While #Mandelson enjoys tax payers' money for a job which comes with a luxury lifestyle, I was 'investigated' for 13 months, kept from promotion, and excluded by @UKLabour for liking tweets by @Glinner and expressing my view that only women can have a cervix...

For anyone who would like to hear Mark Carney’s outstanding Davos speech in full here it is. This is what true global leadership looks like. Canada should be immensely proud today, because they are leading the fight back when others dare not. 🎥 TikTok - vm.tiktok.com/ZNRBDT4mB/

I want my daughters to live in a country where their right to single-sex spaces isn’t under attack from their own government.
I want my daughter to grow up in a Britain where she feels safe in school, online, and in relationships. Every young girl deserves that, and every young boy should be protected from harmful misogynistic influences. My government is making that happen, by backing teachers, calling out misogyny and intervening early. We can stop harm before it starts and save a generation of young men from the influence of online misogynists.

When I was a student, my first political job was with Alistair Darling (who went on to be Chancellor of the Exchequer for the Labour government). I then worked with Charles Kennedy, Menzies Campbell & Jim Wallace (Lib Dems). All of whom were decent and highly intelligent men, genuine public servants & principled politicians. But since then, something rather grim has happened to the standard of our politicians. Very few of our politicians today are anywhere near the standards of many politicians from the past. It’s one of the reasons why we are in this enormous mess.

‼️Previously they were the Labour enablers propping up them for 26 years - yet just waiting to pounce. 🗳️A vote for Plaid in the new enlarged Senedd is to get the Independence ball rolling….. He’s simply not even trying to deny it …. Voters now know what they really are trying to get into Government to achieve when back in Cardiff Bay. @DarrenMillarMS. @WelshConserv is the only party that is NOT using this election to achieve other aims. We simply want to be able to #FixWales & achieve progress for you & your family. It should be the aim of everyone else on the ballot but it sadly isn’t.
🚨REVEALED: Plaid's true intentions are to tear the UK apart and bankrupt Wales. Plaid's leader admits that the reason he isn't openly pushing for independence is because a referendum wouldn't be won “today”. If you're thinking of voting Plaid, this is a must watch.👇
