🚨STAY SAFE OUT THERE PEOPLE. A warning for anyone traveling to London, especially women traveling alone. Those little bike taxis with the lights and music? Here’s how my experience went last night. I went to see Phantom of the Opera, but I wasn’t feeling well and ended up leaving early. I just wanted to get back to my hotel, so I took one of the bike taxis. What looked like a fun little ride turned into a situation that left me very shaken up. When it was time to drop me off, he pulled away from my hotel and took me over to a secluded area instead. I was alone, not feeling well, and now away from where I was supposed to be. They kept wanting me to hand over my phone so they could take pictures of me. I said no. Then came the pressure to pay with my physical card. I told them I would pay cash, and they kept arguing with me. And suddenly, what started as one man became THREE men involved in the situation while I was by myself. The firmer I got, the more aggressive they became. But I held my own. I raised my voice deliberately because I wanted to draw attention and cause a scene. I wasn’t going to quietly let them pressure me. I told them loudly, “I SAID NO!” They did not get my phone or my card. I handled myself, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t scared. Being alone at night in another country, somewhere secluded, with three men escalating the situation was frightening. When I got back to my hotel and explained what happened, the staff told me this is very common. They said people can be charged astronomical amounts, £400 and up, for a short ride. A taxi driver I spoke with afterward told me it sounded like I got off easy. Well, it certainly didn’t FEEL easy. I’m sharing because I had no idea, and maybe someone reading this doesn’t either. Please be careful about these bike taxis. After this experience, I’d ask my hotel to arrange a taxi. This trip has had so many beautiful moments, but last night rattled me. I’m safe, and I’m grateful for that. But this mama is ready to get home to her husband and boys. 🤍

The split on the right is exclusively to do with immigration. The Tories are responsible for the Boriswave, and even if they promised to fully reverse it, we would see the same mithering about "fairness" from Tory MPs that we see from Labour back benchers. They cannot be trusted to clean up their own mess, especially not after Badenoch's conference speech. Her undisguised contempt for Reform was a mask off moment. But then Reform is also a problem. There is a gulf between what Reform members expect and what Farage would actually do. While Yusuf is tough on the rhetoric, Farage keeps rowing it back. In this, I have some sympathies with Farage. He's realistic about what can be achieved in the current political climate, and knows the limits of what the wider electorate will accept. Going balls to the wall on immigration is a losing proposition for his party. Restore, meanwhile, does not accept this - and is skirting the far reaches of politically acceptable discourse. While my sympathies lean in that direction, Restore lacks the necessary realism and pragmatism. Their own deportations policy is workable, but not immediately deliverable, and the electorate is not yet ready for that conversation. It's more pragmatic to take what you can get for now. I do understand, though, why Restore does not like or trust Farage. Farage's cautious realism is commendable, but on a more fundamental level, he keeps letting it slip that he doesn't think the damage is repairable, isn't willing to try, and doesn't care that much about it. Some men only have so much to give and he's given it. He's spent, and the new generation of right wing nationalists are not willing to accept defeat. Nor should they. But that leaves us with something of an impasse that keeps the right out of power while Labour makes everything worse. This is a near intractable dilemma. What's clear is this doesn't get resolved by 2029. I don't know if there is a party political solution. What I do know is that the Tory party has not changed, cannot be trusted, and cannot be given the benefit of the doubt. My feeling over the last three years is that there has to be more of a reason to vote Reform than just punishing the Tories. I was half right. It is preferable if Reform professionalises to the extent that it could form a viable government, but that's not going to happen. If, though, it continues to keep the Tories out of power then that is sufficient. The economy can wait. This dispute is over a more fundamental, existential matter where compromise is akin with surrender. The line has to be that the Tories will not be allowed anywhere near power for as long as they are a liberal party. If that means a permanent block then so be it. It just means party politics isn't the mechanism by which this is resolved. There are other means at our disposal. Eventually things will worsen to the extent that the public is ready for a more robust approach, and Farage will retire eventually, at which point there is likely to be more unity on the right. Farage is a big part of the problem. But once Reform, under new leadership, is unambiguous on its approach to immigration and deportations, Restore will evaporate. Reform will then have to pair up with the street protest movement to keep the system off balance until the Tories are no more. It may take a decade, but that's how it has to be. The main objective in the interim, is to bury Badenoch's party for good.

🇫🇷 A French politician poses for photos with MASKED RIOTERS just minutes before they TRASH a bank in Grenoble. And the man in the pictures? He's in charge of the city's FINANCE commission. Allan Brunon, an elected official from the far-left LFI party, smiles for the camera alongside black bloc-style protesters. Just minutes later, some of those demonstrators allegedly ransacked a Crédit Agricole branch. Seriously, a city finance official posing with masked protesters while banks are getting smashed up? You couldn't write a more ridiculous set of circumstances. Writer: Oliver

Total Streisand effect. Nobody outside Wolverhampton would've heard of this guy prior to this, but his insane overreaction to being mocked online means he'll now be known as the rabbit faced rent boy who got a teenage boy arrested for making some mildly offensive memes about him.

BioWare, once one of the biggest and most respected video game developers in the world, is shutting down after more than 30 years. Despite being responsible for creating some of the most iconic games ever made, the studio somehow forgot the most basic rule of the industry. Make good games that people actually want to play. Instead, they became increasingly obsessed with pushing woke ideology and identity politics. And now they're finished. And when I say woke, I mean seriously woke. VERY woke. Here's just one example of a cutscene from one of their more recent games. Yes, it's real. No, it hasn't been altered with AI.

Christopher Hitchens: ”In 1786, when the United States was barely a country, it was having its sailors taken as slaves by the Barbary states, the states of the Ottoman Empire and North Africa. Tripoli, shores of Tripoli. Ships stopped, its crews carried off into slavery. We estimate 1.5 million European and American slaves taken between 1750 and 1815. Jefferson and Adams went to their ambassador in London and said, why do you do this to us? The United States has never had a quarrel with the Muslim world of any kind. We weren't in the crusades. We weren't at war with Spain. Why do you do this to our people and our ships? Why do you plunder and enslave our people? The ambassador said very plainly, Mr. Abdul Rahman said, because the Quran gives us permission to do so, because you are infidels, and that's our answer. Jefferson said, well, in that case, I will send a navy which will crush your state, which he did. Islamic fundamentalism is not created by American democracy. It's a lie to say so. It's a masochistic lie, and it excuses those who are the real criminals, and blames us for the attacks made upon us.”

Yet another London failure. I am a member of a group who advises people about what to do and where to go in London. A young American woman in the group had an appalling experience at the weekend. She went to the theatre to see a musical. Her friends wanted to go out afterwards but she preferred to go back to the hotel. She could not get a black cab and did not want to risk a minicab. So she took a rickshaw. You know the type: lit up like Blackpool illuminations and blaring out music. She thought they were licensed. They are not: the mayor has been talking about that for years but it won’t be in place until 2027. Anyway, just her and one “not English” guy cycling. As they came closer to the hotel she said they ended up in a really quiet alley. He stopped and suggested taking her photo using her phone. She refused. She did not want to hand over her phone and did not feel safe. They had quite an argument about it. She said she would just pay and walk the rest of the way. Then two other men appeared. Now she really was scared and offered the £30 agreed fare cash. The driver (and the two men) insisted that she pay by credit card. They started to say that she had to pay double if she paid in cash. At that point, a couple turned the corner and instantly the two men vanished, the driver took the £30 and she was left alone. If that couple had not turned up I don’t know what would have happened. She had a photo from inside the rickshaw and is submitting it to the police today but it is not easy to identify the driver. This is not the first time I have heard of such a scam. One tourist was told the fare came to £200 because it was “a tour” and not a ride to the restaurant. Despite it being no such thing. London scammers in plain sight.
