Thanks @WoodlandTrust for exemplary info re dogs & woodlands. Unequivocal 'bag & bin' dog poo is crucial. V unfortunate that @ForestryComm has ambiguous "Or 'stick and flick' it when you're deeper in the woods" - confusion/excuse not to bag&bin.

As a dog owner I love the farmers that do this because I won’t walk through a field of cows as I don’t feel safe. My dogs still stay on lead even if it’s sectioned off and we carry our trusty @Dickybag everywhere. I know it’s extra expense so thank you

Parasites in dog poo include Neospora,Hookworm, Ringworm,Tapeworm, Salmonella & Roundworm. Roundworm & Neospora eggs remain active for a long time. Roundworm can cause stomach upsets,sore throats & even blindness. Dog poo is one of the leading sources of e coli contamination.
