One of our favorite organizations The Dinner Party @DinnerPartiers is a platform for grieving young adults to find peer community and build lasting relationships. We wish they’d been around when we were younger. Check them out! thedinnerparty.org

Continually awed by @PatinkinMandy & Kathryn, their honesty and empathy. And of course @lennonflowers & the work of @DinnerPartiers to help those who grieve feel less alone.
To Alaska (aka Amanda - we figured it out!) Thread - Thank you for sharing this with us. My dad died of cancer when I was 18. Kathryn's parents died within a year of each other when she was 25, her dad of a heart attack while her mom was sick with cancer....

I lost my dad in September 2016, and I was in my thirties when it happened (so luckier than a lot of us) I share your feeling on this strange privilege. @DinnerPartiers is a wonderful resource.

just watched this video and was brought to tears like so many others. Mandy's @DinnerPartiers initiative sounds so important for those people, like me, who have struggled with grief. it's hard to find people who deeply understand - i think this is very important stuff friends

I lost my mom to cancer a month before my 28th birthday, and it’s like Mandy and Kathryn say, it’s an incredibly isolating experience, and a desperate search to find others in your peer circle who are going through something similar. @DinnerPartiers was a huge source of community

We both wish we had a way to connect to others when we lost our parents. If you or anyone else going through a similar thing might find it helpful or useful folks can learn more at the link in our bio. If that avenue is not for you we just wish those struggling to reach out...
