69 years ago today, Laika died alone in space. 🐶💔 She deserved a loving home. Instead, she was sent into orbit with no way back.
At Beagle Freedom Project, we fight for animals still treated as disposable in the name of science. For Laika, we keep fighting. ❤️🐾

The Mawashi express is not a cruise ship
It is a DEATH VESSEL deporting animals to their death 👺
A floating ATROCITY
On average 1% of the animals die in these shit hole barges and are thrown overboard
The rest is brutally slaughtered at their destination

🚨Richard Channing “Chan” Shealy, 54, a former interim worship pastor and Christian musician in Lexington, South Carolina, has been indicted on nine federal counts for producing, distributing, and possessing child s*xual abuse material.
Federal prosecutors say Shealy produced images of a child on four occasions between 2004 and 2006, later shared CSAM files in February 2026 via a peer-to-peer network with an undercover Homeland Security agent, and possessed additional material on devices at his home. The production counts carry up to 30 years each; distribution and possession up to 20 years each, plus fines.
This follows his March 26, 2026, arrest on 13 state s*xual exploitation charges. After posting bond (with conditions allowing contact only with his own children and barring internet access), he was hit with 20 more state counts on May 1—including two first-degree criminal s*xual conduct with a minor, lewd acts, and additional exploitation charges tied to the same 2004–2006 period involving children ranging from five to eight years old. Bond was denied; he remains jailed.
Shealy’s wife, Beth Shealy, was vice chair of the Lexington One school board (serving ~27,000–28,000 students) at the time of the initial arrest. She resigned March 29, citing family needs. Local reporting noted her social media response framed the alleged child s*x crimes as acts by “Satan.” The couple has minor children, including a daughter with special needs.
Shealy previously led worship, spoke at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes event at a district high school, and produced Christian music portraying himself as a “faithful” follower of the Bible.
Shealy belongs to the Southern Baptist denomination, which emphasizes marriage as between a man and a woman and condemns consensual same-sex relationships as sinful.

I looked them up and they appear to be at the Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) in Tucson, Arizona. If you adopt both of these dogs together — or any animal from this center — I will pay for a month's worth of pet food and help you find a good pair of pants.

US-owned steel plant with a plant in Middletown OH begins mass layoffs amid Trump tariffs:
In a memo sent by Cleveland-Cliffs to workers, the company explicitly linked the move to Trump's steel tariffs on Canada, which it said had "significantly shrunk the market" for its products.

Cleveland-Cliffs' layoffs (up to 500 workers) are at its Stelco plant in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, due to US tariffs on Canadian steel imports. Its Middletown, Ohio plant has no such layoffs and is receiving a $1B upgrade investment.

Meet MAGAt Zack Scrivner, a prominent figure in California GOP politics who served on the Kern County Board of Supervisors from 2010 until his resignation in August 2024 following a domestic dispute involving allegations he molested one daughter and was stabbed by abnother who was defendign her.
The severe legal actions against him trace back to an incident on April 23, 2024, at his home in Tehachapi, where responding deputies reported he was experiencing a drug-induced psychotic episode. In February 2025, California Attorney General Rob Bonta officially filed multiple felony charges against him following an extensive state-led investigation.
According to the official California Department of Justice complaint, Scrivner faces three felony counts of child abuse/willful cruelty to a child and two felony counts of possessing illegal assault weapons. The altercation at his home initially erupted after he allegedly molested his 12-year-old pre-teen daughter while intoxicated on a cocktail of drugs.
During the chaos, his children intervened to protect her, resulting in a violent struggle where Scrivner pointed firearms at his family. His son wrestled an assault weapon away from him, and Scrivner was stabbed twice in the upper torso with a pocket knife by his daughter during the physical altercation to subdue him. Despite the severe molestation allegations, the state omitted formal sex crime charges, enabling Scrivner to qualify for a court-approved mental health diversion program in December 2025 to avoid prison time.

No more cheap airlines, we are paying through the nose for flights now -- and, under Trump, all the consumer protections we had are gone. This doesn't hurt wealthy people; it only helps airlines that overbook their flights and create havoc that leads to delays.

Eric Deters warned the White House last week he wanted help with something, and if he didn't get it, he'd go public saying US Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle asked him to pay $100,000 in credit card debt for her. Trump chief Susie Wiles didn't answer him.
Deters told @CBSNews today he wanted the extradition of a Pakistani doctor who did spinal surgeries on patients who didn’t need them. "Thursday, I sent Susie Wiles, Don Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle an email, and I told them, I said, 'You got until 5 o'clock on Monday to help me out with the Durrani victims,' and I just said, 'Let me know what's being put in motion' -- meaning the extradition of Dr. Durrani. They didn't respond. And I told them, 'If you don't, I'm going to go to the media and try to get the media's help because you're not helping.' So I gave them one last shot, and they ignored me," he told @weijia

Wondering what or who crawled up @bennyjohnson's ass then realized his numbers are probably down and he's just picking fights for clicks. Or maybe he's just nervous now that firing squads are making a comeback and treason is a death penalty offense.

🚨 On Monday, Indigenous Peoples' Day, thousands of saguaros the Tohono O'odham consider people will be ripped out of the ground, for not one wall, but two.
The saguaros are called ha:şañ. Removing one isn't just destroying a plant, it's considered an act of violence against a person.
The Nation was only notified Friday.
The Nation filed an emergency injunction with the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals this week trying to stop it. Removing a saguaro without a permit is illegal. DHS is moving forward anyway, citing a border emergency to bypass that requirement.
Chairman Verlon Jose put it plainly: "Trespassing on our land to remove the sacred saguaros is like having masked men break into your house and take away your children.”
But here's what you can do today. There's a way to speak up on this exact project. It's in the first reply.
