With no Republican running in HD23, standing with liberty is a necessity.
Libertarian candidate @Ross4CO Ross Metler is your pick this election!
There's no incumbent, so the race is anyone's game. Ross is running against a Trans Woman Doctor Alexis Hoffkling, and boy, do they have some screws loose!
Let's get Ross elected to get some sanity back in politics!

HITLER IS A "LEFTIST"
"Nazi Germany was a SOCIALIST state, not a capitalist one. ...Socialism, understood as an economic system based on government ownership of the means of production, positively requires a TOTALITARIAN DICTATORSHIP."

Looking ahead to next year, El Paso County Libertarians are encouraged to run for local offices such as school boards. School District 11 in Colorado Springs will have four board seats up for election next year.

Colorado has too many politicians!
What happened to the concept of a “citizen legislature,” where normal, working people were the ones who were elected to represent their communities?
It seems that career politicians who’ve been groomed by special interest groups and activist organizations are the ones serving in office.
Thankfully, Colorado has good candidates like Michael Sheperek @MikeRlog, who spent his life working in engineering and computer technology.
Now, Michael is retired and he is running for Colorado House District 49 to bring a voice of the people to the Legislature.
In this interview, Michael talks about why he is running for office, his experience and explains how citizens need to get involved to turn Colorado around.

The current state of Colorado is the result of voting for the lesser of two evils. I am the alternative. Vote for me and @Ross4CO to save jefferson county and our state.
Why does everything a government touches turn to shit?
Every tax, regulation, and price control produces an economic consequence its architects either ignore or actively conceal from you.
Murray Rothbard's Power and Market, published in 1970, tears apart the intellectual cover governments use to justify intervention. Rothbard builds the case like this: no form of state interference improves on the voluntary exchange economy. Every intervention distorts prices, misallocates capital, and ultimately harms the very people the policy claimed to protect.
Take price ceilings. New York City imposed rent control in 1943 as a wartime emergency. Eight decades later, landlords still face legal caps on rents, and the city faces a perpetual housing shortage. Capping prices below market rates destroys the incentive to supply. Investors channel capital elsewhere, housing stock deteriorates, and you pay more for less under the table through bribes, key fees, and "finder's fees" to brokers.
Rothbard also categorizes interventions. Autistic intervention forces you to act or refrain without directly involving your property in exchange. Binary intervention forces an exchange between the state and a private party. Triangular intervention forces exchange between two private parties on state-dictated terms. The specificity matters because each category produces distinct distortions, and grouping them all as "regulation" lets politicians dodge accountability for the specific damage each one causes.
Then there is the calculation issue. Governments do not possess the price signals needed to allocate resources correctly. Mises already proved this in 1920, and Rothbard extends the argument: intervention actively destroys the information system that makes optimization possible in the first place.
Free market thinkers after Rothbard have added data, case studies, and formalized models. None have overturned the logic. Governments intervene, prices lie, and you bear the cost.

excellent goals
Milton Friedman, Nobel Prize-winning economist, once went through the major U.S. government departments and said which ones should stay and which should go:
• Department of Agriculture: Abolish
• Department of Commerce: Abolish
• Department of Defense: Keep
• Department of Education: Abolish
• Department of Energy: Abolish (move the nuclear/military piece under Defense)
• Department of Health and Human Services: Cut in half (limited public health role only)
• Department of Housing and Urban Development: Abolish
• Department of the Interior: Sell off most government land, and abolish
• Department of Justice: Keep
• Department of Labor: Abolish
• Department of State: Keep
• Department of Transportation: Abolish
• Department of Treasury: Keep (to collect taxes)
• Department of Veterans Affairs: Pay veterans off, and abolish
Result: roughly 14 departments down to about 4–5.
Government’s real jobs, he said: defend the country, keep the peace, and protect people from being coerced by others. Everything else is outside its proper role.

Colorado Taxpayers Paid $2 MILLION for a Political Campaign?! Loophole Allows Government Spending!!
Colorado voters have been bombarded with advertisements about this year’s election.
But most voters don’t know that taxpayers paid nearly $2 Million for ads and mailers that tie into ballot measure 7A!
Thankfully we have Natalie Menten @ColoEngaged who is helping to expose this egregious violation of the public trust.
In this video, Natalie explains that not only was this tax money spent on marketing, but to add insult to injury, taxpayers don’t even know how the money was spent without paying expensive fees!
This should be a massive scandal!
