Do you agree? Or disagree? It’s no secret that Colorado is a Sanctuary State for people who are in the country illegally. Laws passed by the State Legislature are protecting illegal aliens from deportation and taxpayer-funded social programs are even provided to those in the country illegally. Amendment 81 would remove some protections for illegal aliens if they were charged with a crime. If Amendment 81 passes, someone who is arrested for a violent crime or is arrested for any crime and has a previous felony conviction could be reported to Homeland Security. Law enforcement would be required to make a reasonable effort to determine if the arrestee was in the country illegally and if law enforcement cannot determine that the arrestee is legally in the country, they would be required to notify Homeland Security. This would mean that illegal aliens with a serious criminal record would no longer be given a free pass in Colorado. Instead of catch-and-release policies, criminals could actually face serious consequences for their crimes. If Amendment 81 passes, I’d expect that crime would go down and deportations would increase. Who is supporting this measure? Michael Fields, President of the Advance Colorado Institute is a designated representative of this measure. A Brighter Colorado (20265052270) is the Issue Committee that is supporting this measure and other measures that Michael Fields is involved with this year. A Brighter Colorado has received over $2.6 million to support initiatives in this year’s election. The largest donors to A Brighter Colorado are Common Sense America ($2,000,000), GOPAC Election Fund ($500,000), Rado Capital ($25,000) Matt Stava ($25,000), Oscar Brown ($25,000) and Advance Colorado ($20,000). Eagle County Republican Women Club is also listed as an organization, but currently has no spending listed in TRACER (the Colorado Secretary of State’s campaign finance website). Who is opposing this measure? At least three issue committees have a purpose of opposing Amendment 81. Colorado Communities First (20265052247) is primarily funded by Colorado Immigrants Right Coalition (CIRC) (at least $155,000), and American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado (ACLU) (at least $80,000). The People’s No (20265052344) is primarily funded by ACLU of Colorado (at least $245,000), and Color Action Fund (at least $100,000). Vote Common Sense (20265052134) is primarily funded by Green Advocacy Project ($200,000), Merle Chambers ($100,000), Coloradans for Real Safety Solutions ($50,000), Colorado Immigration Rights Coalition Action Fund ($50,000), Colorado Wins ($50,000), Colorado Fund for Children and Education ($50,000) and other groups. Final Verdict: Free State Colorado recommends a YES vote.

With no Republican running in HD23, standing with liberty is a necessity. Libertarian candidate @Ross4CO Ross Metler is your pick this election! There's no incumbent, so the race is anyone's game. Ross is running against a Trans Woman Doctor Alexis Hoffkling, and boy, do they have some screws loose! Let's get Ross elected to get some sanity back in politics! #colorado #politics #btcm #midterms

Gender ideology is the state mandated religion of Colorado. Over 20 laws have been passed to mandate it. You cannot acknowledge biological truth in CO… But when it hurts CHILDREN? — Girls in their own sports & spaces?? It’s time to act. 📢 Vote YES on Prop 134!
Two girls were allowed to play volleyball only if they stopped discussing a transgender athlete, a Colorado parent complaint alleges. A coach’s message threatened benching over alleged bullying. The school district's response left the alleged condition unanswered. foxnews.com/outkick-sports/c…

Denver City Council is considering a proposal to ban what it terms “algorithmic price fixing in rental housing.” 🧵 At issue is the adoption by multifamily rental operators of management software that uses members info to create aggregated data on market conditions. The system reduces the lag in pricing as markets conditions change. As more property owners adopt the software, the market intelligence is closer to real time pricing, lease terms can adjust to changes in supply or demand more quickly. When Denver was supply constrained and high demand, prices went up in real time, faster for software users. In today’s market, as 4,000+ units came online and demand has slowed, prices are falling in real time. Lewis and Kashman paint the tech as the modern equivalent of a smoke filled room, with mustache twirling villains screwing the little guy so they can surf piles of gold. Missing from their naughty landlord scenario and ordinance is: ▫️the recognition that the software provides intelligence on supply and demand, including *lowering* prices as markets change. Their single point of data came at Denver’s peak. Re-run the analysis today and the results would find the software generating an impact that decreases rent; and ▫️A Nov. 2025 settlement with RealPage and DOJ addressed key concerns (e.g., leasing data in the algo/pricing recommendations now must be at least 12 months old and more). The proposed ordinance is economically illiterate slop and pretends the DOJ settlement doesn’t exist. The provision giving tenants the private right to sue is a nightmare and will further distort Denver’s rental market and add another reason to the growing list making Denver a bad investment for multifamily operators. Maybe that’s the point. At every turn, this Council seeks to make the private rental business more expensive and a risky investment. Members of the Budget and Policy should reject this ill-conceived bill on Monday. FYI: Polis vetoed a similar bill in 2025.

Kenny (@NguyenforCO ) per our conversation at the candidate forum, I contend your advocacy for “Medicare for all” is an advocacy for compelled labor—slavery. It’s not a surprise, you do align Democrat with an unbroken history of promoting slavery & racism. It’s just a disappointment because you came into the chamber waiving a pocket constitution.

Have a great weekend Colorado! You have a right to defend your life and the life your family! When politicians attempt to limit your ability to defend yourself, they are acting in an illegitimate manner. Your rights are not subject to political decisions. The more people understand this, the better our society will be.

Colorado has too many politicians! What happened to the concept of a “citizen legislature,” where normal, working people were the ones who were elected to represent their communities? It seems that career politicians who’ve been groomed by special interest groups and activist organizations are the ones serving in office. Thankfully, Colorado has good candidates like Michael Sheperek @MikeRlog, who spent his life working in engineering and computer technology. Now, Michael is retired and he is running for Colorado House District 49 to bring a voice of the people to the Legislature. In this interview, Michael talks about why he is running for office, his experience and explains how citizens need to get involved to turn Colorado around.
