Another senior commander with close ties to the Dagalo family's security apparatus abandons the UAE-backed militia, potentially carrying sensitive information about its leadership, as successive defections and public apologies expose growing internal divisions.
Lieutenant Colonel Jiddo Hamma, Former Supervisor of Hemedti and Abdel Rahim Dagalo’s Personal Security, Defects from Rapid Support Militia and Accuses Dagalo Family of Handing Control to Foreign Powers Another senior commander with close ties to the Dagalo family's security apparatus abandons the UAE-backed militia, potentially carrying sensitive information about its leadership, as successive defections and public apologies to the Sudanese people expose growing internal divisions. 24 October 2026 Lieutenant Colonel Jiddo Mohamed Adimo Hamma, commander of Group 135, head of the South Nyala Sector, and chairman of the committee overseeing arrests related to criminal activities within the UAE-backed Rapid Support Militia (Janjaweed), has declared his complete defection from the militia and announced his decision to join the Sudanese Armed Forces. He also called on officers and soldiers under his command, as well as his former comrades, to defect immediately and spare their families further suffering in what he described as a war serving a rebellious family and foreign agendas. Jiddo's defection is particularly significant because of his previous position within the militia's inner security circle. He formerly supervised the personal security details of militia commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, and his brother Abdel Rahim Dagalo. Given this role, he is expected to have considerable knowledge of the leadership's security arrangements, internal operations, and decision-making processes. His departure raises the possibility that he possesses sensitive information about the movements, relationships, and activities of the Dagalo family's closest associates. In a recorded statement addressed to the Sudanese people, Jiddo accused the Dagalo family of surrendering control of the militia to foreign countries that, he said, were exploiting Sudanese blood and suffering for their own interests. He condemned the militia leadership's conduct as morally and religiously unacceptable, explaining that he and his fellow fighters had been raised to believe that weapons should be used to protect their communities and their country, rather than wage a war that has devastated Sudan and displaced millions of its people. "We were raised to believe that weapons should be used to protect our people and our country," Jiddo said, before accusing the Dagalo family of handing control to "countries that trade in our blood, our suffering, and the blood of our people." He added that such conduct was unacceptable to God, the Prophet Muhammad, and anyone with a conscience. Jiddo explained that his decision followed a prolonged period of self-reflection, during which he concluded that there was no longer any justification for remaining within the militia. He pointed to the widespread displacement of Sudanese families, the destruction of homes, and the enormous loss of life, warning that the war had become an open-ended catastrophe with no clear prospect of ending. "Our people have been displaced, our homes destroyed, and Sudanese lives have become worthless. No one knows when this war will end," he said. Describing continued participation in the conflict as a serious mistake, Jiddo declared that he accepted responsibility for his decision to defect and was prepared to comply with any necessary legal procedures, while committing himself to the protection of civilians. His willingness to submit to legal proceedings is particularly notable given his previous military and security responsibilities, including his role supervising the personal protection of the militia's two most powerful leaders. Addressing his former comrades directly, Jiddo urged them not to sacrifice their families and homeland for any individual commander or ruling family. "This country belongs to all of us. No commander is greater than Sudan, and no individual is worth sacrificing our families and our homeland for," he declared. He concluded his statement with an apology to the Sudanese people for the suffering caused by the war. "To our people across Sudan, I say: Please forgive us for all the suffering this war has caused," he said. "There is no shame in admitting you were wrong and returning to your country. The real shame is knowing something is wrong and continuing to do it." Jiddo's departure follows a series of prominent defections from the Rapid Support Militia and its allied armed movements during October 2026. Among the most significant was Major General Mohamedin Ismail Ahmed, Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration of the Sudan Liberation Forces Gathering, an armed movement allied with the militia through the Tasis Alliance. Mohamedin accused the Dagalo family of war crimes, ethnic cleansing, rape, and looting, as well as attempting to seize control of Sudan with foreign backing. He said that he and his comrades had been deceived by promises of political change and justice, apologized to the Sudanese people, and declared his readiness to fight alongside the Sudanese Armed Forces from Kordofan all the way to Um Dafog. Another major defection involved Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Azraq Al-Fanjari, commander of the militia's Special Missions Group, who reportedly left alongside approximately 300 officers and soldiers and 30 military vehicles, according to information obtained by Sudanese Echo. In a recorded statement, Al-Fanjari apologized to the Sudanese people for the suffering, displacement, and loss caused during the war. He repudiated abuses committed against civilians and urged his former comrades to abandon the militia and stand with the Sudanese Armed Forces, declaring that "this war has no just cause and no future." The statements by Jiddo, Mohamedin, and Al-Fanjari share several striking similarities, particularly their acknowledgment that continued fighting alongside the militia can no longer be justified, their apologies to the Sudanese people, and their calls for other fighters to join the national army. Jiddo's defection, however, carries additional security implications because of his previous proximity to Hemedti and Abdel Rahim Dagalo and the sensitive information he may possess about their inner circle. Other prominent defections during 2026 included Major General Al-Nour Ahmed Adam, known as Al-Nour Al-Gubba, Brigadier General Ali Rizgallah, known as Al-Savna, and armed groups led by Brigadier General Musa Khamsin, Abu Bakr Dahloub, and Al-Tayeb Al-Ahideb. Some of these departures followed disputes with the militia's leadership, allegations of marginalization and tribal discrimination, and complaints about the Dagalo family's monopoly over military decisions and resources, particularly in its treatment of fighters from the Misseriya and Mahamid communities. These developments followed the high-profile defection of Abu Agla Keikal, commander of the Sudan Shield Forces, in October 2024. The latest wave of defections has coincided with military setbacks in North Kordofan, where the Sudanese Armed Forces and allied units regained control of Sudri in September, followed by Al-Mazrub on October 2, in operations targeting militia positions and supply routes. Despite extensive UAE support that has helped sustain the militia through weapons supplies, financing, and logistical networks, repeated defections have highlighted growing problems of internal cohesion that military resources alone cannot resolve. Lieutenant Colonel Jiddo Mohamed Adimo Hamma's departure adds another significant episode to this pattern, particularly given his former position within the Dagalo family's personal security apparatus and the potentially valuable information he may possess about the militia's leadership, although his statement did not disclose any such details. As senior commanders continue to abandon the militia, publicly apologize to the Sudanese people, and accuse the Dagalo family of deception and serving foreign interests, questions are mounting over the leadership's ability to maintain the loyalty of its remaining forces and prevent further defections amid continued military pressure in Kordofan and other battlefronts. #Sudan #RSFisTerroristOrganization #UAEKillsSudanesePeople #UAESponsorsTerrorism

Potemkin Party Officials (speech at 12th Tana Forum by Director of NSA) are invoking "increasing Red Sea militarization... and its consequences on maritime security" to argue for a "seat on the table for its stabilization". The unhealthy obsession/irony is too palpable to merit elaboration. This regime has been embroiled in, and has become the principal incubator, of the multiple and perennial internal conflicts that have gripped Ethiopia (Tigray, Amhara, Somali Regions etc.) for most of its relatively short incumbency. It continues to host a military base in the Beni-Shangul Gumuz Region in western Ethiopia for UAE sponsored military training camp; main conduit for mercenaries; and for launching Drone attacks against the Sudan. For more than three years now, it has declared an unprovoked war of aggression against Eritrea under the mantra of "sovereign access to the sea" and projection of "naval power" in the sovereign territorial waters of its neighbour. Its destabilizing act against Somalia is another dimension of its delusional pursuit of "regional grandeur" and insatiable appetite for the status of a "surrogate mini-hegemon" under the beck and call of other regional hegemons. This charade has to stop before it entails further regional chaos and turmoil! Time to tell the aspirant "mini-hegemon" to shed these hollow pipedreams and grapple with its intractable domestic agendas. Time to openly pronounce - as the saying goes - that "the Emperor has no clothes".

Abiy’s Ethiopia- wherever you look- violence, conflict, indiscriminate drone attacks, wars aplenty resulting in death, destruction, displacement and destitution. Meanwhile the Seventh King is set to launch war against Eritrea. Lunacy.
🚨 BBC reports civilian deaths, homes and businesses burned, and hundreds fleeing to Kenya as fighting intensifies between Oromo and Somali forces in Moyale On October 22nd, BBC News reported that ongoing fighting in Moyale Town, along the Ethiopia–Kenya border, had resulted in multiple civilian deaths, the burning of residential homes and commercial properties, and the displacement of hundreds of residents. The fighting began on October 18th following a territorial dispute between the Oromia and Somali regions over the placement of a Somali Region administrative flag in a contested area. Residents reported that the violence intensified on October 21st and 22nd, spreading across Kebele 02 and other parts of the town. According to BBC interviews, a 13-year-old girl was shot during the initial fighting and subsequently died in hospital, while another resident reported the killing of a 10-year-old child on October 22nd. One resident reported approximately six deaths on Thursday, while a source on the Somali side reported four people killed and 11 injured. Residents also described widespread destruction of homes, sustained gunfire, and security personnel positioned on buildings with sniper rifles and DShK heavy machine guns. The fighting reportedly brought commercial activities to a standstill and forced the closure of the Moyale–Addis Ababa road. The BBC stated that it could not independently verify the casualty figures. The BBC also cited Reuters and Kenyan humanitarian officials confirming that hundreds of Ethiopians, primarily women and children, had crossed into Kenya seeking safety, while others fled into surrounding forests. Displaced families reportedly faced severe shortages of food and shelter. The Kenya Red Cross said it was assessing humanitarian needs and coordinating assistance for the growing number of displaced civilians arriving in Kenyan Moyale.

Narcissist, tyrannical Abiy has no commitment to Ethiopia or Oromia. His consuming obsession is to cling to power. Under his watch, multiple wars of choice are devastating the country, even as its people can barely make ends meet. His solution? More war. Internal and regional.

🚨 Heavy fighting between Oromo and Somali forces resumes in Moyale Town, forcing civilians to flee into Kenya as border crossings close On October 22nd, heavy fighting resumed in Moyale Town along the Oromia–Somali regional boundary following a brief lull the previous day. The fighting, reportedly triggered by competing territorial claims between the two regions, began in Kebele Two before spreading throughout the town, with sustained gunfire bringing normal activities to a complete standstill. Although Federal Police and Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) personnel were deployed to Moyale, they have been unable to halt the fighting. Major roads connecting Ethiopia and Kenya have been closed, disrupting cross-border transportation and movement. As the fighting intensified, numerous Ethiopian civilians fled their homes and crossed into neighboring Kenya through the Moyale border area. Local sources confirmed that many families had already entered Kenya on the morning of October 22nd, while additional residents continued fleeing the town.
