CLCF1 barely rises after a single session and stays low in statistical confidence, showing that old muscle sends out much weaker signals than young muscle.
After twelve weeks the increase grows a little, but the rise is still modest compared with the youthful response seen in the earlier figure. This muted pattern underlines the paper’s point that aging blunts the exercise-triggered surge of CLCF1, helping explain why older muscle and bone recover more slowly.
