I'm sure your guess is correct. It's so easy to complain, but thankfully there are also people (like you) who try to make the situation better.

beg buttons, but instead of giving the ped crossing light they activate tire spikes protecting the crosswalk

This, but everywhere
This is in Manchester, UK. The car was trying to access a bus-only area, the busses have a chip which deactivates the bollards...

That 'smile and wave' thing also happened to me today, and it makes me furious. Since those drivers clearly don't care about me, why bother to pretend they do?

I am grateful to the wonderful seniors who participate in my dance/cardio classes and who sometimes sing as well as dance! I thank them by creating an amazing playlist for each class.

Pedestrian disdain extends beyond the CBD. Check out this one, spotted in Collingwood last week... granted not as busy a street (and now sorted thanks to council intervention) but er which footpath was I supposed to use here?

I watched this powerful film earlier today and am grateful to all the courageous survivors who participated.

Partly inspired by @albrgr's tweets, I dug a little more into recent findings on the relationship between air pollution and cognition. The effects seem rather amazingly large: patrickcollison.com/pollutio….

The city also needs to be reminded to honour the Free Snow Removal agreements it already has with many seniors. The city sidewalks beside these properties are often not cleared.

The city doesn't consistently clear city sidewalks for seniors who already have Free Snow Removal agreements. What is the point of these agreements if they are ignored so much of the time?
