Last year, on July 5th, 2025, my GoDaddy website was reactivated. I didn't really do anything to overhaul it except use AI to rewrite all the text content, and it's abysmal. This year, I will attempt to fix it and maybe sell stuff or something ๐ค

A Chaos Giant is a twisted, monstrous humanoid of extraordinary size that has diverged from the rest of the Giant race by embracing the dark powers of Chaos and become monstrously warped.๐นโด๏ธ

Sound familiar?
"Fantasy is a natural human activity. It certainly does not destroy or even insult Reason; and it does not either blunt the appetite for, nor obscure the perception of, scientific verity. On the contrary. The keener and clearer is the reason, the better fantasy will it make. If men were ever in a state in which they did not want to know or could not perceive truth (facts or evidence), then Fantasy would languish until they were cured! If they ever get into that state (it would not seem at all impossible), Fantasy will perish, and become Morbid Delusion."--J.R.R. Tolkien, On Fairy-stories

In 1952, a group of children and a mother in Flatwoods, West Virginia, investigated a falling fireball and encountered a ten-foot-tall creature with a spade-shaped cowl, glowing eyes, and a pungent, metallic mist that made them violently ill.
The Flatwoods Monster remains one of the most terrifying close encounters on record. Do you think it was an alien entity or a misidentified barn owl in the dark?

โThe Tavern Can Wait,โ
A Wizard and Beth short film.
In this one, Beth basically becomes Ghita of Alizar (thanks @BarbarianDisco for the idea). If you donโt know who that is, she was a sword and sorcery heroine form the early 80s who catered heavily to the male gaze.
This one is only slightly NSFW.
Enjoy!

TSR got REALLY weird in 1981. โค๏ธ
That year, the company behind Dungeons & Dragons released an official Escape from New York board game based on John Carpenterโs film.
And look who was involved:
Design: Zeb Cook and Harold Johnson
Art credits include: Jeff Dee, Dave LaForce, Jim Roslof, Bill Willingham, and Erol Otus
Even better, the game featured what appear to be:
๐ฉ๏ธ Bill Willingham art on the instruction booklet title page
๐ง Erol Otus art of the Crazies emerging from the sewers
So yes, TSR really made a board game where players race through prison Manhattan to rescue the President and recover the tape before time runs out.
And the box proudly says:
โFor 2 to 4 Adults Ages 10 and Upโ
An R-rated John Carpenter movie.
Turned into a TSR board game for ages 10 and up. ๐
This is the kind of gloriously strange early 80s TSR history I live for.
Had you ever seen this one before?
