In case you missed it: My WICKER review for @InRO!
'The gender roles ruling Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson’s Wicker are meant to be obvious — something the viewer immediately recognizes and knows as true to the world, even without the ability to discern an exact time or place. That foundation allows the real work to begin, and this sophomore feature reveals the filmmaking duo’s central preoccupation: relationships, and how they are shaped by and vulnerable to the outside world. The duo’s follow-up to 2020’s Save Yourselves! also confirms that their dark sense of humor and taste for the absurd isn’t something they’ll shy away from anytime soon. Wicker is, in a word, weird.' inreviewonline.com/2026/10/2…

Want to see a truly scary movie this Halloween? May I recommend Cristian Mungiu’s Palme d’Or winner FJORD with Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve, a Rorschach test of a psychological/moral twister. Chilling, in a most impressive way. In theaters.

Wrote about the man, the myth, the legend, Nicolas Cage.
Cage's commitment to unbridled performances makes him the perfect match for the over-the-top genre fare.

WILDWOOD reminded me of kids adventure movies of the 1980s, and I mean that in the best way possible.
Wildwood, Laika's first PG-13 rated movie, trusts kids to grapple with heavier themes.

My main takeaway from YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING and its reception is that media literacy and emotional intelligence, both among the elite and in the culture at large, are both in the fucking toilet. But we knew that already
