With all due respect, “personhood” is not a magical trump card that overrides the basic principles of the republican form of government. One cannot conclude from the bare fact of personhood that anyone and everyone has a right to be counted in the census, to vote, or to stand for office.
U.S. bishops are opposing proposed Census Bureau rule changes for the 2030 census, arguing that excluding noncitizens without lawful permanent resident status from the apportionment count would effectively deny them recognition as persons. ewtnnews.com/world/us/u-s-bi…

Brutal. (but true, I was there)
Gosh, I’d love to attend this debate. But I’m pretty sure I have a MAGA rally to attend that night… If you have any doubt that the German Catholic academy has fallen into clownish irrelevance, look no further than this inane and ginned-up “controversy.” Last summer, the vaunted “protest” consisted of 25 desultory septuaginarians holding signs and a statement from the theological faculty of the University of Munster, which was at an undergraduate level of sophistication and which betrayed not the slightest indication of any familiarity with my work. And yes, that sound you hear in the background is Josef Pieper turning in his grave.

Fr. Francisco Suárez figures as perhaps the greatest thinker of Second Scholasticism and his Disputations are certainly among the most important philosophical works ever written. We are happy to announce they are now available on the ScholaThomistica.

“Mi opinión como historiador es que masacres y genocidios han sido cometidos durante toda la historia y si te conmueve…”
Mi opinión como arqueóloga es que el "patrimonio historico" se ha destruido en revueltas durante toda la historia y si te conmueve que se queme un ayuntamiento y no los motivos por los que se dan las propestas te toca espabilar

Most card carrying Thomists are actually Scotists on their concept of being, in how they formulate analogy, and they don't even realise it.

No.
Do you find the idea of concomitant decrees expounded by Mastrius and others to be in line with the thought of Scotus?

ScholaThomistica now says openly how it uses AI: what it makes possible, how errors are caught and fixed, and why AI translations are provisional, an aid toward reading the Latin, not something to cite unchecked. scholathomistica.com/ai
