You are to sell 100 metric tonnes of Ginger. Your total cost to deliver to the buyer FOB is $2350 per tonne, and your selling price is $2500 per tonne, as stated in your offer.
A foreign buyer tells you:
Your price is too high. Another Nigerian exporter has offered me $2400 per tonne. If you want my business, you must match that price.
What would you say to convince the buyer to buy from you, or would you reduce your price to $2400 per tonne?
Remember, you cannot simply say your quality is the best, as every supplier claims that.
What would you do?

FARMERS, STOP FALLING FOR THIS TRAP.
Whenever a buyer/Middle Men tells you “Bring it to us we will buy”, be careful.
That single sentence has ruined the profit of many farmers.
Especially when you’re dealing with perishable produce.
Here is the game they play 👇

Your background is your foundation, not your limitation. Build on it; don't let it bind you.
I came from a poor background, but that ended at age 30. After 30, you are the background.

I used to think that hiring more workers automatically meant getting more work done on my farm. Experience quickly taught me otherwise.
I’ve faced situations where the farm was full of workers, yet the actual work barely moved forward.
That realization forced me to completely rethink how I manage my operations. I learned a crucial lesson: having people on your farm is not the same as having an effective workforce.
Real productivity comes down to three things:
- Reliable people
- Clear responsibilities
- Consistent monitoring
Quality and accountability will always beat headcount.
Have you ever had a similar experience on your farm or business?

I recently had this podcast conversation with @BiggRaj, recounting his experiences from building a career in agriculture from uni & during NYSC, and what he’d advise young people.

We called it Esuru in Yoruba language. It a tuber that grows in the air and not in the soil. We use to cook it inside palm nut while producing red oil that time
