Highlights at the plate from this past high school season. The preseason focus was consistent line drive power, and I was so happy to see that hard work come to life this spring!

I haven’t stepped foot in a tournament facility since October 2018.
Since then my youth baseball program has grown almost 10x in size. Parents, players and coaches are generally happier.
Only sharing this because it’s a reminder that you can serve kids unique, developmental baseball experiences and you absolutely DO NOT need these tournaments.
You just need to think outside the box about what kids truly need and then communicate the vision effectively.

NiJaree Canady, Karlyn Pickens, and Jordy Frahm all saw their collegiate careers end at the hands of Teagan Kavan.
It's no longer about being one of the best among her peers; Kavan has cemented her status as one of the best ever, with room for more.

An 'overrated' chant at an MLB game is weird but also reaaaally funny when the overrated guy freaking loses one

Got to wrestle him once when I was in college and he popped in to one of our practices during the off season. He’d whip your butt on the BB court too.

For those in the “too close to take” camp…you do realize that comment hinges on the competence of the home plate umpire right?

This needs to happen less
I get why coaches say it and sometimes it is necessary
But the numbers don’t lie
Being ahead in the count you get more fastballs + more mistakes
Behind in the count you get more spin + more chase pitches
Also think about it does to them mentally

Be disciplined enough to prove yourself right."

Fifty years ago today, Carlton Fisk waved it fair.
His walk-off home run for the @RedSox 12 innings, four hours and one minute after the start of Game 6 on this date in 1975 endures as a signature moment in World Series history. ow.ly/8mKl50Xfw0F
