It feels really objectionably stupid for great people to have to leave companies they love because of org chart inflexibility. But every exception and one-off creates it's own organizational debt, and often cynicism and equity issues over special treatment.

I'm trying to optimise my time and energy in work by asking: 1. Can I ignore this? 2. Can I delegate this? 3. Can I defer this? 4. If I have to do this can I: - Decompose this? 5. If I have to do this more than once can I: - Can I simplify this? - Can I automate this?

Tip: to allow users clearly distinguish between "O" and "0," you can set `font-variant-numeric` to `slashed-zero` ✨

With GitHub adding native support for Mermaid diagrams, I've seen more and more people trying to create C4 model diagrams using Mermaid. Here's an example somebody posted on GitHub.

No new bugs can be communicated to QA after 4. Bugs are wily, prone to burrowing into vulnerable brains and taking root, corruption spreading down the spine. They are particularly dangerous at the end of a working day when testers are most vulnerable to what haunts the office.

Journalists covering InfoSec, when covering breaches, please ask what security control(s) should have prevented the incident but didn’t. It’s a common question asked in every other comparable area.

This is the most basic argument against crypto that I tell all the people who call me. The tech doesn't work, and the fundamental idea is ahistorical and flawed. Writing it down so I don't have to repeat myself all the time. The Case Against Crypto stephendiehl.com/blog/agains…

I have property & a backyard. What turns people YIMBY is trying to hire great people under 35 and realizing there’s almost nowhere reasonable for them to live & start a family nearby. 🤦‍♂️ cc: @Noahpinion

And what turns people "YIMBY"? It's the lust for other people's property. (YIMBYS don't actually own backyards, they want to force people to build on them).

Tech enthusiasts: My entire house is smart. Tech workers: The only piece of technology in my house is a printer and I keep a gun next to it so I can shoot it if it makes a noise I don't recognize.

PSA if your art has been stolen by someone on the opensea and opensea doesn’t honor your request. There’s a workaround, they host their images through Google.
Replying to @NFTtheft
@NFTtheft @martinmcneil it worked! you can take down nfts through google's automated system here support.google.com/legal/ans… (no phone number or address required) and they will take down the actual image of your stuff not the page itself but! its something!!! 😭
