Eren literally never protected his “friends.” He literally states he didn’t do the rumbling for them, he didn’t know if they’d survive, and if they didn’t stop him, he would’ve continued the rumbling. My point still stands. He never put Historia in harms way.

What are you talking about? She got pregnant and he chose the option to fight the MPs and the rest of the world. They turned into titans, Eren starts the rumbling, and Historia is safe on the island. And if Eren completed the rumbling she wouldn’t have been afraid of retaliation
