Shortly after noon today, Golder Ranch Fire District crews responded to Romero Canyon Trail at Catalina State Park for a hiker experiencing symptoms of dehydration. The hiker was evaluated by GRFD crews at the scene. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Air Rescue unit and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department also responded. Even on cooler days, hiking can take a toll on your body. Stay hydrated, bring more water than you think you’ll need, know your limits and plan ahead before hitting the trail. #hiker #rescue @PimaSheriff @Arizona_DPS

We were honored to be part of two special Patriot Day ceremonies at local schools this morning. The first was Legacy Traditional School’s 9/11 event, which included a flag ceremony, songs and poetry in recognition of September 11th, and a breakfast the first responders were able to share with the students. The second was Leman Academy School of Excellence’s Patriot Day Parade, where students thanked our crews with cards and drawings, and even got to ask questions about what our firefighters do. First responders from across the area were honored and recognized at both events as a special thank-you for all they do to protect and serve. 🇺🇸 #patriotday #september11th #community
