Fuck this dude and fuck AI. Holy shit.
Brother, Mate, Pal, Buddy.
As a YouTuber. If I make a GREAT video. How will anyone watch it to know it's great if YouTube never shows it to them in the first place?
Same thing with Steam and games.
I've given LLMs the benefit of a doubt a few times, and they have failed me terribly every single time, on things they should have been the best at. People will scream, the paid ones are better! But I suspect they are just better at masking how shit they are.
It's the only way I play. I'm more interested in the dynamic stories that arise from a struggling colony, than I am gaming the system by throwing out human morality in a survival situation in favor of pure mechanical optimization.
"The Author is wrong and I am right" Is one hell of a take. Holy shit.
This is the problem with a lot of "media literates" and their interpretations of Dune. They latch on to Herbert's brief psychosis when he wrote Messiah and not the wider themes of the entire series. Paul, and then Leto II, where not only entirely justified in their actions but entirely morally correct.
If you take it at just the first three books, Paul overthrows a stagnant, feudal corporatist empire who's leader was willing to cozy up with hedonistic pedophiles in order to kill a man he viewed like a son because said man's popularity threatened his family's dynastic power. The Great Houses where willing to fight to defend this system, and suffered for it. And the machinations of the Bene Gesserit lead to all this to begin with when Paul was impossible to control. To say nothing of Alia's brief rule, an abomination of the Bene Gesserit's own making.
Leto II meanwhile says verbatim Paul's failure was not going far enough. The Golden Path was essential to saving humanity from itself and threats beyond. If you take Brian Herbert's two follow up novels as canon, if Leto II hadn't enacted the atrocities of the Golden Path, humanity would have been wiped out by Omnius as they would have been totally unprepared to confront him. Note that Brian Herbert based these two books off his father's notes.
Saying "Paul is actually the villain" is ignoring context for the ramblings of an unwell author who couldn't read his own work despite the fact he wrote it.

Enemies not respawning on death is insane to me, that mechanic is present in basically every video game ever. What’s even crazier is that people in the comments seem to think that’s exclusively a soulslike mechanic
This is why the review is great actually. You were informed, and don't view it was a negative, Maybe even a positive!
I was informed, and I now know not to buy the game because it's a huge negative for me.
We both win! The review did it's job!
This would work if the consequences of people using and supporting AI didn't affect all of us. We can't all ride the same bus and expect half the riders to ignore the fact that the other half is actively lighting the bus on fire.
Here's a wild idea:
What if people who hate AI just... didn't use it?
And people who enjoy using AI could simply keep using it?
No insults. No constant lectures. No treating the other side like they're stupid.
> You don't have to love AI.
> You don't have to hate AI.
> And you definitely don't have to agree on everything.
Totally wild idea? Isn't it?
Don't let billionaires convince you slop is the future. They're used to managing & directing, not making things themselves. Of course they can't see the difference. They don't understand your love for the craft. Keep making personal, beautiful games.
You've got my support 💖
News flash, when you die, you aren't taking anything with you. None of your hours spent doing anything are going to realistically matter. The literal only time that you do not waste, is time enjoyed. Full stop. Everything else you do is to enable that to happen.
The future looks like no one's going to be able to actually afford hardware in order to play games in the first place thanks to AI data centers driving up prices to unsustainable levels you absolute Muppet.
Don’t understand why people are upset with @EpicGames embracing AI/vibe coding. The future looks good and the longer you try to ignore/hate on the acceleration of these tools the further you fall behind. But hey most people are behind anyways and will stay that way regardless of AI being a thing or not 😅
Dune Awakening should be roasted just as much for its self-revive mechanic as Wolverine did for its fart trails. As should any game that essentially has a God mode cheat programmed into its default gameplay. Absolutely baffling.
Welp, you certainly got me uninstall your launcher fast, if you want to count that.
We vibe coded the Epic Games Launcher to be faster than the other guy.
Don't believe us? Test it out for yourself in Preview:

I stand with Nick on this.
Grew up in an era where you put the game in and immediately get into gameplay because cutscenes didn’t last for more than 10-15 seconds. It was an image and text for the most part that you clicked through.
Today you can put your controller down and not pick it up for 20 minutes until the cutscene is over.
If I didn’t want to use my motor skills for 20 minutes, I would have watched TV instead. I chose to buy a game to PLAY the game. There is a reason they come with controllers you know?
Cutscenes need to be shorter and MEAN SOMETHING.
What? Last week I had Spaghetti dinner for the week, this week I'll be having Pasta Salad. The week before I had tacos.
That's eating like a dog? You have to have a whole new meal each day or it's dog food?
Who the fuck has time to prep a brand-new meal every day?
I would not only press the button, I would learn to tap dance on top of the button for the sole purpose of making the button's clicking sounds cheer a happy tune.
I ended up replacing my garage roof solo. That...was not a great idea for a dude pushing 40 to do by himself. But I finished it Saturday. I hurt in places I didn't know I had. If you look close while on the roof, you can tell an Amateur did it. But it looks pretty good otherwise
