Following up on the brilliant tweet from @GrayGhost below... One of my core principles is that discussing the Wealth Pump, a.k.a. the “Reverse Robinhood effect,” from the perspective of current @GOP and @TheDemocrats platforms misses the point entirely.
Both parties are part of the problem, and the anti-socialism tirades you’re increasingly hearing on platforms such as the @theallinpod, etc., represent carefully designed obfuscation of this fact. Dr. @Peter_Turchin and his colleagues at the Complexity Science Hub call this phenomenon “elite overproduction.”
To me, the only credible solution is to ditch the partisan tribalism, reverse decades of corrupt campaign finance reforms, and let our democracy do what it was designed to do—i.e., represent the will of the people. I trust that We the People will make wise choices at the ballot box (e.g., flat tax—regardless of income source or level) if given the opportunity.
Thomas Sowell is correct: capitalism is the best system for organizing human societies when done properly. Some would argue that we haven’t done it properly since President Nixon unilaterally abandoned the gold standard in 1971. I would argue that we haven’t done it properly since at least the late 1970s/early 1980s, citing the charts in my earlier post: teapawt.net/DariusDale42/status/21….
Make wise choices,

Darius makes a great point. Nothing says “healthy democracy” like Main Street Republicans and Democrats getting into fistfights over pronouns and border memes while the same donor class quietly rewrites the tax code, campaign finance rules, and antitrust enforcement so their slice of the pie keeps growing. But sure, the real problem is whatever the other tribe posted last week.

CORRECTION: Dale 2048 🇺🇸. I have young children whom I would like to see grow up before I get assassinated.
FWIW, throughout history, people who “red pill” the system tend to get assassinated: the Gracchi brothers, Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, Huey Long, JFK, MLK, etc.
THEY—the billionaires and trillionaires who have purchased controlling stakes in Congress, the White House, the Supreme (and lower) Court(s), AND THE MEDIA—have a deeply vested interest in preventing the following:
1. Campaign finance reform so that every citizen’s vote actually counts as one vote, rather than preserving the current system whereby the top 1% pay top dollar to rig election outcomes, legislation, and regulation on their behalf AT OUR CHILDREN’S EXPENSE.
2. A single flat tax that treats every dollar of realized income the same.
3. No tax loopholes to favor certain activities and interests, or to promote certain behaviors. As far as I’m concerned, the desire for people to procreate with desirable partners and take adequate care of their families—both while alive and posthumously—is genetic. You don’t need to corrupt the tax code to promote these outcomes. Human beings will do these things regardless of whether there are tax “incentives” for them—which we know largely favor the rich.
4. Trust-busting to reduce the power of monopolies, duopolies, and monopsonies over our economy and promote inclusive innovation.
5. Mandating that the Fed target stability in the US dollar vs. a basket of commodities or a neutral reserve asset like gold, OR removing the Fed’s “maximum employment” mandate—the mandate that causes it to consistently justify debasing our currency and perpetuating the historic Cantillon effect that is destroying our society—if returning to a harder currency regime is too painful.
These are the kinds of “radical” (read: common-sense) ideas that can get me killed if I’m not careful—hence waiting until 2048.
“The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.”
—Exodus 15:2
Jesus Christ and I love you and your children. Change your attitude towards our corrupt political system for them before it’s too late.
Reminder: The US has already fought a violent, bloody revolution and a violent, bloody civil war because The People have generally agreed with me and not with The Privileged Few. Unfortunately, history confirms that revolutions and wars are ALWAYS much worse for BOTH sides than everyone realizes at the outset.
I believe God pulled me up from the bottom 0.001% of the K-shaped US society to bring glory to Him by helping prevent this tragic outcome—or by helping our wonderful nation heal after it. I pray every day that I’ll be successful in either mission.
With love,

“CALIFORNIANS SHOULD BE OUTRAGED!”
We are beyond ‘concerned’ when most people commuting to work and school cannot afford the current prices.
Prices will rise beyond $8 per gallon this summer as Sacramento does nothing to support local energy production.
This is criminal.

PROLONGED ENERGY CRISIS AHEAD, EU WARNS
EU Energy Commissioner Dan Jorgensen said the global energy outlook remains grim, even in the best-case scenario, as Middle East tensions disrupt supplies.
He likened the situation to a combined 1973 and 2022 crisis, warning disruptions could last months or years. Even a swift peace deal wouldn’t bring quick relief—Qatar’s gas infrastructure alone could take over two years to rebuild.
LNG prices are unlikely to stabilize anytime soon, with tough conditions expected to persist.

Europe is in a full-blown energy crisis.
In fact, Europe's energy crisis has gotten so bad that the European Commission is now recommending Europeans to work from home.
They are also recommending using public transportation to cut fossil fuel use.
Meanwhile, new IEA data shows that Europe has just 6 weeks worth of jet fuel remaining as the Iran War shortage worsens.
As a result, many flights are expected to be cancelled on non-essential routes.
Between the Russia-Ukraine War and the Strait of Hormuz closure, Europe's vulnerability to energy supply shocks has been exposed.
We expect another wave of inflation in Europe.

The EU is blackmailing Hungary’s new prime minister by giving him 27 conditions HE MUST ACCEPT in order to unlock over €30 billion in frozen funding.
These conditions include abandoning the Orbán-era policies on LGBTQ rights, immigration, and foreign policy, particularly regarding Ukraine. Failure to comply could result in the permanent loss of further EU funds.
There you have it. The EU is putting a price on your country’s independence and sovereignty. If you take the money, you’ve sold your soul to the devil.

US Oil Exports to Hit 5 Million Barrels a Day Amid Global Crunch
US Gulf Coast crude exports are poised to reach a record 5 million barrels per day in May as Asian buyers snap up cargoes from the Atlantic basin to offset the loss of Middle Eastern supply.
Crude shipments for April are already inching toward about 4.9 million barrels a day based on current loadings, up from roughly 3.97 million barrels a day in March.
Analysts now expect crude flows to push even higher in May, with increasing numbers of very large crude carriers, or VLCCs, loading from the Gulf Coast. “US crude exports look set to continue the strength we see coming through for April,” said Matt Smith, director of commodity research at Kpler, adding that May exports could break the 5-million-barrel-a-day mark — eclipsing a prior record of 4.5 million — as Asia demand remains high.
