We were promised universal basic income. RAM Altman gave us feudalism with API keys.

Look at the other answers and try to convince me that he’s wrong
could just take his hour from 2 to 3 PM instead. HR said no, rules are rules. He shrugged and said, 'Probably this place won't work out for me then.' And walked out. Companies are losing top talent over the stupidest power trips.

I asked my son to empty the dishwasher, and he replied, "E-word."
Further interrogation revealed that he was told by a teacher that "easy" is a bad word because a problem that is easy for some kids isn't easy for all kids.

What do you mean, everyone he talked to liked his costume.
Dear companies: never have I ever interacted with an AI customer service (chat bot, phone answering bot, etc) and come away feeling anything less than rage at its incompetence. They literally never help me and I usually end up begging multiple times for it to let me talk to a human. Please bring the humans back.

When millennials, gen z, and soon to be alpha say that life is ruined. They don't mean they had to walk to school, work a bit extra to pay a bill, or got rejected once. Nor are they saying they had a horrible childhood or rough life, as many older people did.
They are saying that every normal process of human life, from housing, to relationships, pleasant public spaces, to employment, basic hobbies, and beyond. Has been made so unattainable they'll never have them. And so corrupt they hardly even want them.
There is nothing worth striving for, and they aren't allowed to strive for it anyway.
Everywhere they look are signs of decay, with almost no signs of hope.
They are stuck in an eternal night, that only promises to get darker, and their lantern is almost out of fuel.

I got turned down from a fast food job because the manager prioritized hires from "disadvantaged and underrepresented communities". So they hired an illiterate who no call no showed after 2 days on. I have to run my own business because even fast food places refuse to hire me 🤷♂️
Is AI making life better? NO. Is it making things cheaper? Quite the opposite. Is it improving the internet? It’s drowning it in slop. Is it giving us more time to be creative? It’s stealing that too. Surely it’s making us smarter, though? Ohhhh, you won’t believe this…

This horrible advice leads to a lot of neurodivergent burnout in late 20s / early 30s. Slights in the workplace are not "imagined". You'll actually drive yourself crazy telling yourself that you're imagining or even just exaggerating things. You will invite escalation by sadistic personalities. There are absolutely plenty of people who get off on pressing your buttons.
In my 40 odd years on this planet, one of the few key insights I’ve had is that Jung was right about this. 99% of things don’t really matter and hiking the skill of just shrugging it off and moving on is one of the most important things you can do.
Almost every argument you have with someone is pointless. Every social slight is either imagined, exaggerated or has minuscule consequences. This seems to really hurt people in professional settings. They become obsessive and discontented. Just move on
The only places really worth it are family and close friends/community
