In my 22 years as a head coach (HS, College, AAU), we’ve had 2 ACLs during our season.
However, the last 2 ACLs for players in our AAU program have happened in a meaningless HS summer league game and a meaningless HS fall game.
Just another reason if I coached HS again, how different I would do it based on what I learned from being a D3 college coach.
This may piss off some HS coaches. Not the intent. Intent is for coaches to really think about what’s important to their program and what’s not. Coaching college completely changed my perspective on what is and what isn’t

NCAA Division 1 Saint Louis University—which recently eliminated its Men's and Women’s Tennis programs—just slashed dozens of faculty and staff positions.
The school also suspended salary increases.
Hopefully, those seeking new employment can take comfort knowing that SLU miraculously found the cash to pay a mere 15 of its students a reported $10 million in total Basketball NIL & rev-share compensation while simultaneously handing its Head Coach a $22 million contract extension.
Both are totally unrelated, of course.

As a side note, dog culture IS out of control and they have no place in grocery stores, and no place in retail establishments. I would venture more than half the dogs I see in airports are a fraudulent service animal.

I learned from good coaches who said: Don’t dribble unless you are going somewhere good with the ball. Watch how many useless dribbles there are on the court. Catch and dribble and go no place. It wastes time and then there is no pass. A guard dribbling 30 feet from the basket.

Saw a lot of great bball this weekend.Only saw a couple good pg's out of like 40 but the glaring thing is many kids don't pass the ball or don't pass it on time.Easy shots are hard to come by cuz of the lack of passing. Coaches don't coach it or have consequences for not doing it
