Great adjustability on this play at the plate. And great tag point. Not locked into one form or one style of tagging. Catchers being able to be athletic enough to adapt to the play in front of them. Infielders with gear on. 🤙🏼

😂🥣Anthony Pettis reveals a crazy story of how he was chosen to be on the Wheaties box:
“I was in Dana White’s office. He got a phone call for Wheaties box, it was supposed to be a Jon Jones. But Jon Jones did some crazy sh*t.
Dana gets on the phone. He’s like, ‘F*ck, again?” He’s pissed and I’m just sitting in the corner. He’s like, ‘Pettis, you wanna be on the Wheaties box.’ I’m like, ‘F*ck yeah, I do.’
That’s how it happened. It was supposed to be Jon Jones, but I was in the right place at the right time.”

tim anderson announcing his retirement made me go back and read my 2023 profile of him again
even with the batting title and the early success, it’s hard not to wonder how differently things could have gone if the baseball world embraced him a little more
Big Bottom of the Zone grab here by @ian_armstr0ng
Being effective in the bottom of the zone resides in how well we trust our load (body positioning) as well as our eyes. Doing those two things well allows us to consistently maintain tension with good timing.

Another big league principle to infield play is hand presentation:
Palm above the ball and snipe the pocket. Look at how the ball is controlled with no rattle.Listen to the ball hitting the glove. That’s what good catch sounds like.
