Crediting Dan Lanning for coaching his way out of the adversity that he caused by making bad hires

Beating Ohio State at their house under a lug like Mario Cristobal was a genuine program-defining miracle. Under Dan Lanning it's a strange footnote on a season no one will remember

This was foreseeable, as accepting this offer would've eaten into his ability to focus on the things he's truly passionate about in life, like hitting his wife.

Holy S they really did put Christian Kirk on the Never To Be Seen Again portion of the IR
The 49ers activated WR Demarcus Robinson off the injured reserve list. He takes the roster spot that was created with the club placing WR Christian Kirk (knee) on injured reserve. The 49ers also elevated WR KhaDarel Hodge from the practice squad. Hodge is a core special-teamer.

Tosh is an unmatched recruiter with zero X's & O's inclination. The ultimate Jimmies & Joes guy. Which can work if you're secure enough to hire coordinators so good they could conceivably take your job. Alas

The faking injury scandal was probably Tosh being ordered to take the fall. The recruiting violation allegations are w/e. But all signs pointed to him not having the horses to be a HC. Which is too bad bc we always need more Barry Switzer types in CFB

The biggest tell about this human beanbag chair is the panicky tone of his 9,000 posts this week trying to downplay historic progressive results
It is possible to look these things up and check whether Abdul El-Sayed was unusually good or unusually bad at winning over working class voters. nytimes.com/2026/11/07/us/po…

When the "big move" ends up being for like Zay Jones
The 49ers definitely need to add another receiver by the trade deadline Most of us already knew this, but when you read it ⬇️ and listen to Lynch talk about it on KNBR, it’s imperative a big move is made for a WR via: @Eric_Branch

Won't be coming to Santa Clara per these Madden 27 numbers (more valid than modern PFF)
"If the Cowboys lose this game, it would be irresponsible to not trade George Pickens." @getnickwright has a strong message for the Cowboys ahead of their matchup with the Colts:

Kyle was asked what he'd like to see happen with Aiyuk: "I could care less."

There wasn't a more predictable sequence of events if you paid attention to college football for the last 5 years but tbf that cohort doesn't include Ron Rivera

George Kittle rn
I asked George Kittle if he’s looking forward to seeing Brandon Aiyuk in the 49ers’ facility tomorrow.

JOHN CARPENTER COMMENTARY: Right there, blammo. What a dumb cheap trick. Ripped it off from a Howard Hawks picture. God, this is a piece of shit. WILLIAM FRIEDKIN COMMENTARY: That was take 57. After this scene I put a gun in Gene Hackman’s mouth for fun.
