Timberwolves generated 13 (!!) corner 3s in the first half -- 25% of their total FGA (99th percentile) -- making 6 of those 13 (46%).
For reference, San Antonio took the most corner 3s per game last year at 12.4 per game.
Wolves' ball movement has been very solid.

Really fun watching the new Wolves blend with the old for the first time last night.
The structured offense around them was fun, the pops of defense and free flow buckets as well. Really excited to watch this blossom.
Here's how it happened:

“[Kuminga] envisions tag-teaming with McDaniels in guarding the opponent's best scorers, pressuring the ball, bolstering the team's rebounding and creating turnovers for transition opportunities”
@JakePaynting broke it down perfectly in his latest Howls and Growls video ⬇️
Why did Jonathan Kuminga turn down twice as much money from the Lakers to come to Minnesota? It started with Anthony Edwards pitching him on the defense.

Here's a look at how Jonathan Kuminga stacks up against other potential Wolves PF options:
✅ He is clearly the best rebounder
❌ He'll need to improve his C3PT% beside Rudy
✅ Active defender
Kuminga should also help the Wolves play faster and excel as a cutter of LaMelo Ball
We spoke about the potential of the Wolves signing Jonathan Kuminga on Tuesday's Squad Show w/ @juliaddaniels @SamEkstrom.
I love Kuminga's potential defensively as a playmaker and rebounder. He defended KAT pretty well in the playoffs, too.

Did Jaden McDaniels single-handedly close the Denver Nuggets championship window?

Jake is so good at this. Provides incredible nuanced analysis on what Jaden at the 4 and other POA options we’d have. We’re so lucky to have him. xitter.cf/JakePaynting/status/20…
Think I'll probably die on the hill that Jaden McDaniels is at the 4 is not only the best option for the Wolves, but actually one to be excited about.
Still concerns about depth + certain matchups, but I think they can make it really work.
Here's why:

The Timberwolves needed shooting and Duke's Isaiah Evans delivers exactly that.
Below, I dove into Evans's strengths, areas for improvement, his NBA comp, and how he can fit into a similar offensive role to Malik Beasley and Donte DiVincenzo.

This is purely a thought exercise. Do not freak out over any of these trade ideas. I’m looking at what works cap-wise, and what might work basketball wise.

TJ Shannon has been highly productive when given a longer runway.
He's played only 12 games w/ 20 minutes or more, but averages nearly 17 PPG and 3.2 AST to 1.3 TOV per game.
I understand the hesitancy from Chris Finch on defense, but he needs to play through mistakes in G6.

As playoffs approach, we looked at the the Wolves' 10 hardest games (based on opponent win%) this season and compared player performance vs. their season average using ESPN’s Total Net Points (tNet).
Anthony Edwards is the only player on the wolves roster that meaningfully improves when playing the hardest opponents
(+2.92 ↗️ +3.23 points added).
On the flip side, Rudy Gobert performs well under his average against the most difficult competition
(+0.99 ↘️ -1.61 points added).
Net Points measures every possession and assigns credit and blame to players, then give a total net points (tnet) score to each player each game. For more details on net points visit espnanalytics.com/nba-net-pt…

I spoke with Anthony Edwards on the misery of his time out of the lineup, the joy of coming back and, most importantly, what he saw while he was out that changes the vision for the Wolves’ stretch run.
