This is my mom, Deb, about 5 months away from her passing. She was beautiful, caring, kind, and she had early onset Alzheimer's. My eyes are watering in this picture because she knew me and for a second, I had my friend back. Gosh, I miss her so much.
I know that there are people all over the globe who know this journey, but there are still those who don't quite understand. That is why I do my advocacy...to create awareness and understanding for this cruel disease.
The more you know, the better you can fight. The more you know, the more care we can give to those who are struggling. The more you know, the closer we can get to a cure and to finding a survivor.
Feel free to share your Alzheimer's story below. If you're interested in advocacy here in GA, let me know. I can put you in touch with the right people to help you turn your anger into action.

Millions of American families have seen the devastating toll of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
Under President Trump, HHS is shifting the national strategy toward prevention, earlier detection, and faster development of better diagnostics and treatments. We are advancing gold-standard science, reducing risk where we can, improving care, and giving patients and families stronger support at every stage of the disease.
MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: @SecKennedy announces 2026 update for the National Plan to Address Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias.
4 Commitments ⬇️
1️⃣ Reduce dementia risk by confronting long-term risk factors
2️⃣ Accelerate discovery through investment in robust science
3️⃣ Improve care for patients to get clear answers and care they can afford
4️⃣ Strengthen services for families caring for loved ones to help preserve independence
Wow! Hoping that ensuring the blood biomarker tests that have recently come out will be covered by medicare/medicaid and insurance is part of this plan.
Thank you so much for recognizing the need for support in this community.

Do y'all ever have the experience of getting off on the wrong foot with someone and then it just never ends?
Like, you maybe misunderstand each other in the beginning and then over time it seems like every time something goes wrong it happens with that person and somehow it's always you that makes the mistakes over and over?

The south is a special place. 💕
My coworker spent one year in Tennessee.
He came back to Tokyo two months ago.
He is not the same man.
He says "y'all" in meetings. To our boss.
He holds the door for the entire floor. Twelve people. Every morning.
He asked the convenience store clerk how her day was going. She had to sit down.
He calls every man "bud." Including the CEO.
He refuses to describe anything under three hours away as "far."
He waves at drivers who let him cross. One driver waved back and almost hit a pole.
Last week, he told a junior employee, "I'm proud of you."
She went to the restroom and cried for ten minutes.
We thought it would wear off.
It didn't. It's spreading.
Three people in accounting now say "y'all."
The junior employee holds the door.
The convenience store clerk asks HIM how his day is going.
Tennessee, I don't know what you did to him.
Please do it to the rest of us.
This is awesome. I remember!
"Michael wasn't too aware of the Super Bowl. He wasn't too aware of how big this was," recalls Arlen Kantarian, the show's executive producer. "He just said, 'Why don't we call it the Thriller Bowl?'"
Michael didn’t even want to do the halftime show, got most of his demands met, stood there for almost 2 minutes while the crowd went insane, had people backstage panicking because he wouldn’t give them the cue to start the music, got the NFL and a sponsor to donate $100K to Heal the World, reached 133.4 million US viewers with his message of love and unity, and literally set the blueprint for every halftime show that came after him. The absolute fucking GOAT 👑

I just saw on Facebook where the local weather guy is getting bullied in the comments every time he misses a forecast and it’s so sad.
They’ve traumatized Glen Burns.
People of the GA internet… get a grip! You’re terrorizing the weatherman!
Thank you @RepMcCormick for joining us in the fight to find the first survivor of Alzheimer's. Your leadership in this area is so necessary!
It’s always a great day when I get to catch up with my friends at the Georgia Alzheimer’s Association.
Artificial intelligence has the potential to revolutionize medical research, and I look forward to the day we can celebrate the world’s first Alzheimer’s survivor.
Thank you, Jamie and Cabot, for your continued partnership and dedication to this mission.
We stopped by @RepMcCormick office this morning with Halloween treats and a simple message: thank you.
Thank you for signing on to the #ASAPAct. Thank you for seeing what we see. A doctor in the fight against Alzheimer’s changes the conversation. And he sees the vision of how AI and better technology will propel research forward faster than ever.
For the first time in a long time, we have hope.
Extra thank you to Lizzie Harris Orr, his Director of Outreach. Your support means everything to us advocates. Always great to see your smiling faces and talk about the possibilities.
We’ll keep showing up. Together, we will get to the first survivor. 💜

we are officially weeks away from the sun setting at 4:30 pm. please begin mentally preparing to eat your dinner in the pitch black.
Watching Game Day and there are a ton of political ads, but none of them are for GA where I live.
Ohio, NY, NJ. Not that I want to see political ads at all, but weird to see ones that aren’t even targeted.

I swear SOMETHING broke in society after 2020 and nobody wants to talk about it.
And I’m not talking about masks, lockdowns, or COVID. I mean the FEELING of life.
Everything reopened. We went back to work. Restaurants filled up. Events came back. But somehow life still feels… different.
Years disappear faster. People feel more disconnected. Everything feels more expensive, stressful & rushed.
And somehow we’re all constantly exhausted. I can’t even explain exactly what we lost. I just know life before 2020 felt more ALIVE.
Tell me I’m not the only one who feels this.
