No pudieron reabrirse.
Todos los que se han precipitado en felicitar al criminal estafador que ha robado las elecciones brasileñas con dos horas añadidas en las que han voilcado millones de votos podrían tener que meterse sus felicitaciones donde donde les quepa.

Blaming the price of bananas on Israel.
Consider this PAC ad just another example of scapegoating the Jewish state. At least we can thank them for a case study in antisemitism.

I should add: Lula absolutely cheated by having his lawyer judge modify voting times to help him get turnout up in his strongholds.

"Today, the Big Five publishers are staffed almost entirely by women. According to the most recent data, more than 70 percent of staffers are women. More than 70 percent of editors are women. Even 70 percent of all interns are women. At the executive level, more than 60 percent of leaders are women. In 2026, American publishing looks like lululemon."

Bill, you're one of the few people I genuinely admire and respect. But I must say that I wholeheartedly disagree with you on this.
It makes little difference who Israelis elect. The overwhelming majority of Muslims in the Arab world and beyond are not going to abandon their hostility towards Israel and antisemitism simply because its government changes.
As I've said before, when I was a Muslim antisemite, my hatred wasn't driven by any particular Israeli politician. It made no difference to me whether Israel was governed by the most peace-loving, left-wing politician or by someone on the right whom I, and the world, considered anti-Arab. The hostility was there regardless.
Ben Gvir and Smotrich are simply convenient excuses for people who want to justify their anti-Israel hatred.
Look at the political leadership in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Arab world. Look at their blatant antisemitism. Why does their conduct so rarely lead people to suggest that Muslims as a whole are antisemitic, while the actions and rhetoric of Ben Gvir and Smotrich are routinely used to portray Israel as a nation of extremists?
I said I wasn’t going to weigh in on who should be prime minister of Israel as that is a decision for Israeli citizens. I did, however, want to share one point of view from the perspective of someone who has an understanding of how Israel is perceived in America.
Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich have caused Israel enormous reputational damage with their statements and actions which are presented in the global media as representing the voice and will of all Israelis.
As such, a government formed without Ben-Gvir and Smotrich will send a message to the rest of the world that Israel is turning a new page.
This will allow Israel to rebuild lost credibility, increase the opportunity for an expansion of the Abraham Accords, and enjoy a better relationship with Democrats and Republicans and Americans at large.
An new report from Brandeis looks at antisemitism and prejudice among graduate students.
Of all the issues, "the one they cared about the least was Israel/Palestine."
They "tended to care most about Donald Trump and democracy ..."
Humanities PhD students were most antisemitic.

68 Jewish-American teachers and educators were supposed to leave for Italy last weekend on a visit to a world-renowned city for early childhood education. That was until they were told to sign statements condemning the Israeli occupation in Gaza. What does this have to do with early childhood education? Nothing, they say.
So they sadly canceled their trip. To make another kind of statement- one about antisemitism. Now the mayor of that city is doing damage control.

A gunman has shot five people in Paris, killing one.
The assailant apparently drove around suburbs in Paris, stopping at various locations and shooting at innocent strangers.
One location was allegedly a playground.
The motive for these attacks is still unknown, but with all the violence happening in France at the moment, it isn't a surprising development.
