Can you spot our latest arrival?
Yesterday, we were blessed by a Comet in the form of ex-orphan Chaimu's beautiful newborn daughter. Chaimu arrived at our Ithumba stockades, and tucked beneath her legs was something rather special: the 95th known calf born to an orphan elephant we have rescued, raised and rewilded.
A wonderful new chapter in Chaimu's story – and another generation of wild elephants made possible by your support.

Buggey was born on the liner Winchester Castle and sailed 200,000 miles over a two-year period. When the liner returned to England to be taken out of service in 1960, Buggey was left by himself because he could not transfer to another ship with the rest of the crew without spending six months in quarantine. Not wanting him to be lonely, customs officials decided to place him in a basket and escort him to his new ship, ensuring that he did not set a paw on English soil along the way. Successfully avoiding the need for quarantine, Buggey rejoined his crew and continued sailing the world.

This is Teddy. He is only a baby, yet his tiny body is carrying unimaginable suffering. 💔
A few days ago, late at night, Teddy arrived at our shelter alongside another donkey. They were rescued from two different cities, and getting Teddy to safety alone took us more than 36 hours.
His untreated fractured leg has healed backwards in an abnormal position. He has a deep maggot-infested wound near his shoulder, prolapse, multiple wounds across his body and severe dehydration.
His blood samples have been sent for testing, and treatment is underway while we await the results.
Heartbreakingly, the other donkey arrived in an even worse condition. His story will follow soon.
This is Teddy’s childhood. This is the reality we are trying to change. 💔

I don’t think I have ever felt this desperate before 💔
Please, PLEASE SHARE this horse. I know so many of you have only just helped us buy Khari’s motor cart. I cannot ask you to give again. But I am begging you to help us carry this story onto new timelines — because somewhere, someone may be able to help us bring him home.
He is completely blind. And while I am writing this, he is still working.
Look at his body. The rub marks. The scars. The old wounds and the new ones. His owner himself says that because he cannot see, he gets injured again and again.
He came to us only for treatment. We desperately wanted to keep him, but his owner supports a large family through his labour and cannot surrender him without an alternative livelihood.
So every day it takes us to arrange a motor cart is another day this blind horse remains at work.
Through TAWF’s Second Chance for Working Donkeys, we want to exchange his animal-drawn cart for a motor cart, bring him permanently to our sanctuary, and give him what he may never have known — safety, rest, kindness and dignity for the rest of his life.
Please share him far and wide. Help us reach the person who can make his freedom possible. ❤️

Grandparents are truly the most loving.
My grandmother would secretly give us money for snacks and say, “Don’t tell your mother.” Every Sunday she would oil my hair and massage it so gently that I would slowly drift off to sleep in her lap. Sitting in her lap watching the rain outside, I felt completely safe. And whenever my parents were about to scold me, it was always grandmother who stepped in and saved me.
Children who grow up with their grandparents are truly the luckiest they get to experience a special kind of joy, security, and quiet love that stays with them forever. 💖

A tiny newborn elephant was swept away from its mother while trying to cross the swollen Teesta River in India.
Fishermen spotted its trunk above the water and chased it for nearly 4 km through the powerful current before pulling the exhausted calf to safety.
Then, after a two-hour search, they found its mother. She rushed to her baby, took it back and began nursing it❤️

Please retweet, urgent home needed for 12 yr old ROSIE Terrier 💔💔💔 Rosie is another of our new arrivals from the council pound. #YORKSHIRE #UK She hadn’t had any offers of help, and we just couldn’t leave her there at her age.
Rosie is struggling in kennels - she’s started to put the brakes on and refuse to come back into her kennel which is just heartbreaking, but who can blame her - she shouldn’t be homeless at her age and be having to go into a kennel. She is safe with us, but desperately unhappy and we won’t sit back and let her struggle.
We URGENTLY need a foster home for Rosie ideally with a view to adoption (but not essential).
Rosie needs a quieter home where she will get plenty of company, older children upwards, no cats, possibly a very calm smaller older dog as she just ignores dogs . The only time we’ve heard her bark is at a horse - she likes to tell them that she might only be small but she is a terrier after all .
If you can help us to get this gorgeous little old lady out of kennels, please get in touch ASAP!!
Or please just share to help Rosie.

yesterday, KARI’S OWNER CAME TO TAKE HIM BACK. 💔
Even his own owner couldn’t get near him. When I asked if he used to beat Kari, his answer broke me: “Only as much as necessary.”
We did NOT send Kari back. His owner agreed to leave him with us permanently if we can provide a motorised cart — and we’re already more than halfway there. ❤️
Please SHARE and help us finish this.
If donating for KARI or IVORY, please add their NAME as the reference so we can allocate your help correctly. 🙏

HOW HEARTLESS HAVE WE BECOME? 💔
Meet IVORY — a beautiful white mare brought to us from a neighbouring city, now reduced to skin and bones, her body covered in wounds.
Even now, her owner wants her well enough to sell her again.
Ivory is repeatedly throwing her head from side to side. This could have several causes — pain, problems involving her ears, eyes or mouth, or something neurological. Her investigations are underway, and we’ll share her test results tomorrow.
ANIMALS ARE NOT MACHINES. CARE MUST BEGIN BEFORE THEIR BODIES BREAK.
Ivory is safe with us now. Please SHARE — wider reach means more helping hands for Ivory and the next animal who needs us. 💔🐴

Korbessa was just days old when KWS rangers found her at first light, staring up at them from the bottom of a well on the boundary of Meru. She took her subsequent rescue in her stride – after fluids from the vet, she fell into such a deep slumber that she had to be woken to board the plane.
At our neonate unit in Kaluku, the newborn nicknamed ‘our little frog’ due to her signature pose when lying down was entrusted to Keeper Joseph, and this footage shows exactly what that meant: wherever he walked, she followed, a tiny shadow with outsized confidence. She came to know every Keeper in time – but Joseph remains a firm favourite.

After Tropical Storm Edouard hit Texas, a tree in the yard of a house was knocked down. Sadly, only three baby squirrels from the squirrel family living inside the tree survived. The mother and father squirrels did not survive the storm.
Luckily, the three baby squirrels were very lucky. The house cat found them and carried them into the house one by one in its mouth. The homeowner was shocked when they saw the cat coming into the house with the baby squirrels in its mouth.
The cat took the baby squirrels in and cared for them as if they were its own kittens, protecting them and taking care of them.
Sometimes, you don’t have to be the same species to save a life; all you need is a compassionate heart 🥺❤️

In 1985, a pink pelican was born inside an incubator in a park in Yamaguchi Prefecture — the first pelican ever successfully hatched by human hands in Japan.
Raised without a pelican mother, he grew up believing people were simply his own kind.
His name was Katta.
By 1989, he had started walking, on his own, from the park to a nearby kindergarten. Nobody trained him to do it. He just kept showing up.
The children didn't treat him like a wild bird. They sang him a song about mixed juice, and Katta would sway along, keeping something close to rhythm.
He let toddlers climb onto his back. He never once hurt a child, in all the years he visited.
The story went national. Television crews filmed him. In 1989, an animal welfare organization gave him an award for bringing the country a small piece of good news.
When mating season came, staff eventually clipped his flight feathers, gently steering him back toward other pelicans instead of preschoolers. He found a mate. He had chicks of his own.
Katta died in 2008, at 23 years old — elderly, for a pelican.
He'd spent years walking to school like it was simply where he belonged, because as far as he ever knew, it was.

The mini pig is a cute pig and a mischievous one, yet she is well-behaved too. She does not slip away at random. She does it because she is very intelligent.
Pigs, especially mini pigs, rank among the smartest animals. They learn their names, remember human faces, tell permitted spaces from forbidden ones, and even understand a few simple commands. A pig’s mind works in a practical way: when it sees a fence, it does not just stand there and stare. It looks for a weak point. Matcha does not wait for the gate to open. She realizes the fence is not a solid wall, then uses her snout, her hooves, and her light body to grip, pull, and climb. The act looks less like a pet fooling around and more like a child figuring out how to reach something on a high shelf.
A pig’s intelligence also lives in spatial memory. They remember paths, where their owner usually stands, where the food is kept, and where the enclosure has a gap. A pig that “disappears” again and again without leaving a large hole is usually not lucky. She has learned a routine: wait until no one is watching, choose a foothold, then repeat the move because it worked last time. That is learning from experience, not blind instinct.
Pigs can read people as well. They know who feeds them, who shoos them away, when to look innocent enough to earn a touch on the snout, and when to slip aside. Matcha’s gentle face behind the wire is therefore more than cute. It is a social mask belonging to a species that knows how to use charm to lower someone’s guard. Intelligence in pigs is not cold like a machine. It is tied to feeling, curiosity, and the urge to explore.
People often laugh when a pig climbs a fence. They should question the stereotype instead. An animal dismissed as stupid finds a way out, remembers how it was done, and repeats it until a larger body no longer allows it. That is not a joke. It is survival intelligence, wrapped in a small frame and an innocent face. The mini pig is not only mischievous. She proves that pigs can think, try, and win a game that humans thought they had already arranged.

Poor Cornetto urinates himself if you simply look at him or get too close. 💔
How can a three-year-old Galgo end up in this condition if hunters love their dogs so much?
He isn’t even prepared for the most basic things in life.
Cornetto deserves so much better. Let’s get him out of the kennels and into a loving home where he can finally feel safe and learn what kindness is ❤️
A simple share could change his whole world.
Please help Cornetto. 🙏🐾

Before he died, Billy Graham was returning to Charlotte after a speaking engagement and when his plane arrived there was a limousine waiting to transport him to his home. As he prepared to get into the limo, he stopped and spoke to the driver .
"You know," he said, "I am 87 years old and I have never driven a limousine. Would you mind if I drove it for a while?"The driver said, "No problem. Be my guest!"
Billy gets into the driver's seat and they head off down the highway. A short distance away sat a rookie State Trooper operating his first speed trap. The long black limo went by him doing 70 in a 55 mph zone. The trooper pulled out and easily caught the limo and he got out of his patrol car to begin the procedure.
The young trooper walked up to the driver's door and when the glass was rolled down, he was surprised to see who was driving.
He immediately excused himself and went back to his car and called his supervisor.
He told the supervisor, "I know we are supposed to enforce the law, but I also know that important people are given certain courtesies. I need to know what I should do because I have stopped a very important person."
The supervisor asked, "Is it the governor?" The young trooper said, "No, he's more important than that." The supervisor said, "Oh, so it's the president." The young trooper said, "No, he's even more important than that."
The supervisor finally asked, "Well then, who is it?"The young trooper said...
"I think it's Jesus, because he's got Billy Graham for a chauffeur!"

This morning, the Coldstream Guards at Buckingham Palace performed a tribute to Dolly Parton.
The last time I remember the guards at the palace honoring the memory of an American entertainer was when they paid tribute to Aretha Franklin after she passed away.
Well deserved!

German Shepherd puppies are basically a scam.
They lure you in with those ears, oversized paws, and innocent little head tilts. Then they take over the couch, follow you into every room, and somehow convince you that personal space was always overrated.
Then they grow up and become your protector, your shadow, your best friend… and still the biggest baby in the house.
Best breed. I’m not accepting appeals.
