Just over 11 years ago I was looking for a good holiday project, it came down to learning Go, Swift or Rust - when I read up about it Rust just made deep, deep sense to me - so I dove in.
It was a challenge to master, but it paid off every time over the years. Publishing software without lying awake at nights, reasoning about old stuff, building software on tiny things and big things. I never looked back.
Great to see the momentum gathering around it in this AI age, as well as this cyber security tide that is on us.
It's not perfect, and there's foot guns aplenty, but if you spend the time to learn it - it is the gift that keeps on giving!

Doubt another 5 years after this, failing the people of Tshwane. Wasted my vote.
@Action4SA
Cholera.
This morning, we returned to Region 7 for an oversight visit at the Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Plant. We were joined by the Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, David Mahlobo, and the CEO of Rand Water Sipho Mosai.
Our oversight visit formed part of plans to rehabilitate the Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Plant. Rand Water has been appointed as an implementing agent.
In past week, the City has noted a sharp increase in cases of residents failing ill in Region 7. 408 patients were treated at healthcare facilities for dehydration. No deaths have been reported. Based on the ages of the patients and laboratory tests, the source of the stomach illness is likely water related.
As a safety measure, the City has advised that residents in the area should not consume or utilise water supplied through municipal taps for any domestic purposes. Only water supplied through municipal water tankers should be utilised.

Exactly a Square screen to match an Album Cover.
A rare Apple miss, perhaps the new Homepod with a screen servers a purpose as a product, but it very much goes against apple's philosophy and should not exist.
It is a peek capitalism midwit product that amounts to almost no purpose, and the purpose that it does serve is mediocre at best (both as a speaker, as a touch device)
