The Old Trails Fire in Spokane, Washington will likely be the city’s worst disaster since the Great Fire (August 4, 1889), which destroyed 30 city blocks. Reports this evening of multiple neighborhoods with homes burning, and a massive fire and emergency response inside the city.
The National Guard has been activated, and nearly 2,500 acres have been burned so far, punching right through parts of the city. Extreme fire weather continues through the weekend. I will have a full update on the situation on tomorrow mornings show.

The Dwight Merkel outdoor Sports complex that was full for Saturday activities has been forced to evacuate. Evacuations now run as far north as Rutter Parkway. This is a wildland urban interface nightmare. The fire is over 2,000 acres.

The Old Trails Fire in Spokane, Washington has turned into worst case scenario.
This footage was sent in to me, taken from Indian Trail Road, North of west Francis Ave. Devastating losses.
Crews are making progress on slowing the spread of the fire, now 3,509 acres, but remains active.
As We Enter Dirty August, The National Weather Service Issues A "Particularly Dangerous Situation" For Oregon And Washington.
