If you’re lifting tariffs because you think they’ll help Susan Collins get re-elected, then you’re acknowledging that they are hurting AMERICANS, not Canada.

This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.
Does Obama not understand that to most Americans the Cheesecake Factory is a very nice and fancy restaurant?

Trump has turned the Justice Department into a taxpayer-funded law firm for the Republican Party. This ridiculous lawsuit in Alaska is just the beginning of Trump’s attempt to interfere in the midterms and deny voters the opportunity to punish him for corruption and raising your costs.

.@aoc is spot on. I’ve never met a “low information” voter. I’ve met disengaged, apathetic, and frustrated voters. Each of them knows exactly what’s going on. What they don’t see, too often, is a reason to be part of a system that leaves them behind.
"When someone tells me that, you know, everyday working people don't understand politics, I tell them that actually, the working class understands it better than almost anyone," says @AOC. "Because we live with the consequences of it every single day."

We are making the oil oligarchs rich. We are making Trump and his cronies rich. It is literally at our expense every day. There’s no trickling down happening. And Trump is bragging about it knowing nobody in the Republican Party will stand up to him and say enough.
TRUMP on HIGH GAS PRICES: We’re making money like we’ve never made before. They’ll say: President Trump is bragging about all the money they're making while people are suffering at the pump. I don’t give a damn. We’re making a freaking fortune.

Two points: first, there is no 'after Covid'. There is 'after the end of societal non-pharmaceutical interventions'. Second, Covid can cause both prolonged fatigue and prolonged cognitive dysfunction. Because Covid is so common, population level effects are inevitable.
After COVID, people's social skills have drastically declined. Many have less patience for each other, and simple interactions can feel awkward. Everyone seems more comfortable staying home and avoiding people.

Don't talk about our personal lives a lot, but today, my wife is having such a bad day that she is being forced to sit in a dark room with sunglasses on. Folks do NOT understand how many levels of suck can exist until they've seen it or experienced it themselves. :( #oubliette

Maybe this is crazy. But a woman who built herself up from being a homeless child to an accomplished physician, seems preferable to a man born into the privileges of private education and frequent international family vacations but never learned decency.

Nick Clegg is NOT a tech expert. Far from it. He knows absolutely fvck all about tech. Here's his resume. Sitting on Meta's board does NOT make you a tech expert. Nothing of the sort. Political advisor at best.

Peer-reviewed now. Human T cells did show up, did recognise the virus, and still didn't clear it. By week 8 the CD4 cells had dropped their naive identity and gone cytotoxic - TEMRA - with IFN/JAK-STAT only switching on late, nothing like it acutely. Mice without T cells mounted the stronger innate antiviral response. Neither group cleared the virus. A failure to resolve.
Researchers built a mouse with a human immune system to finally watch how human defenses fight COVID. They expected the virus to get wiped out. Instead, the human immune cells helped it spread from the lungs into other organs and muffled the body's own early alarm system🧵

If you do a deep dive on Covid and spikeopathy, it will chill you to your marrow. I strongly suggest doing that deep dive. We're not nearly as angry as we should be about this, and that's largely because the "it's a cold" brainwash worked. Not a cold. Never was. Never will be.

🚨 Let me translate what @sama is saying here: - We'll need to rewrite the architecture of the internet & the financial system. - In a few months, traditional cybersecurity will not help. - The only way to solve the crisis will be to rely on AI to redesign everything.
🇺🇸 Sam Altman admits the latest AI models are becoming UNCONTROLLABLE: "I don't even know a dramatic enough word to use. The problem coming towards us is something that we have not taken seriously. Models can find bugs that are outside of the normal threat model of what we think a hacker can do… hardware-level, insane stuff… I no longer believe we can patch all of the bugs." Writer: Mhedi

The U.S. has sent Israel $352 billion. THINK of what that money could have done to help struggling Americans here at home. The US government is bleeding American taxpayers dry to send OUR money to their Israeli masters. A total citizen rebellion is the only way this will ever end.

I met an old friend recently, someone I haven't seen in years. Immediately noticing my mask, he said, 'are you still worried about Covid?'. I replied, 'yes'. He then said, 'Why? Sure everyone's had it now'. I don't think he understood when I then said, 'that's why I'm worried'.
