If you’re wondering why Democrats are responding to what Haley Stevens did with a sense of betrayal it’s because it was quite literally betrayal. She told a number of her close friends and colleagues and staff that she’d be at church with Jim Clyburn - they were waiting for her there!
And as for the notion that she’s choosing the candidate that isn’t promoting hate how can she justify that when just in the last few days Abdul has been called Muslim Brotherhood, a jihadist, and even a jihadist leprechaun. Sounds like a campaign of hate to me.

Haley Stevens lied to me. I will not sit by while she tries to use Black folks as a prop and costs us our lives. Vote for @AbdulElSayed.

There is one candidate in this U.S. Senate race who will be a champion for Michigan workers and families, and that’s @AbdulElSayed. Colleen and I just cast our votes for him and Democrats up and down the ticket, and there’s still plenty of time to cast your vote too!

This Haley Stevens thing reminds me that gas in Michigan is $4.57 and diesel is $6.68 because the President started a war with Iran that Mike Rogers has been wanting for his entire professional life.

Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, who served as Biden's secretary of energy, on her support for Abdul El-Sayed for Senate:
"I endorsed Haley Stevens in the primary. She was a friend and we worked closely together. I understand and share her concerns about hate, both anti-semitism and Islamophobia. But in endorsing Rogers, I no longer recognize her. ... The stakes for the country are so very high, and today’s decision by Stevens was nothing short of reckless — for Michigan, for the country, and for her political future. I believe folks in Michigan will put guardrails on this President by voting for Abdul."

"Abigail Ronson, a spokesperson for the Mike Rogers campaign, is a registered foreign agent for the state of Israel—one of two foreign agents working on the Rogers campaign, according to a review of foreign agent registration records."
"Ronson, who used to work for Senate Majority Speaker Mike Johnson, is a digital communications specialist at Convergence. In a May FARA filing, she also registered as a foreign agent for Israel, doing work for HAVAS Media Network via Brad Parscale’s Clocktower X LLC."
"Ronson is joined by at least one other Israeli agent on the campaign: Jesse Stokes is another Convergence Media staffer who registered as a foreign agent in October 2025 as part of the Havas contract. Stokes appears to pen many of Rogers’ press releases, and is the author on the April press releases announcing his Senate run, according to the document metadata."

I love my Jewish and Muslim neighbors, and I understand the pain and fear they feel, but for me, the most important issue in this election is restoring the Senate as a check on a dangerously corrupt president. That’s why I am supporting Abdul El-Sayed.

Opinion: Haley Stevens’ declaration – which essentially is that she would rather support a MAGA Republican than a fellow Democrat – is unbelievably immature. usatoday.com/story/opinion/c…
Haley Stevens’ eleventh-hour endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers came after an attempted intervention by one of the party’s rising leaders on her left: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.👇
