Bloemfontein Tragedy: Security Officer, Partner and Two Children Die in Shooting A 35-year-old security officer allegedly shot and killed his 33-year-old partner and their two children, aged 15 and four, before being found dead at their home in Grassland 2, Bloemfontein. Police responded to reports of gunfire at around 08:10 on Wednesday, 4 November 2026. The four-year-old boy was rushed to hospital but later died. The man reportedly worked at the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court and had booked out a company firearm that morning. The weapon was recovered next to his body. Police are investigating the incident as a suspected domestic violence-related triple murder, with an inquest opened into the man's death.
