Mark Carney keeps telling us things that we later learned are false about the Gordie Howe Bridge and Canada-U.S. trade.
He said Canada would get all the toll revenues from the bridge until our construction debts were repaid. False.
Then he said the bridge opening was delayed because of technical aspects. A federal department now says it was a dispute about governance.
Why not tell the truth?
But the MP whose questions triggered the disclosure says he’s “not satisfied at all” with the responses, accusing Ottawa of still hiding key information about the $6.4-billion bridge that became mired in cross-border political controversy this year.
