President Trump told former New Orleans news anchor @rooprajfox2 during a live interview in Michigan yesterday that everyone in a Louisiana community got $10,000 checks from a neighboring data center. My @WWLTV fact-check finds no such checks exist. wwltv.com/article/news/inves…

I’m stuck in this loop: “Use LLMs to find all the bugs” Okay, which model? “Model X found a bunch of bugs” “Wait, another lab’s model found bugs that one missed.” “Actually, a startup with a better harness found more using the same model.” “Now another startup with a local model, a different harness, and talented researchers found bugs everyone else missed.” “Hold on, the next frontier model just found another batch.” All in the same attack surface that’s already been reviewed by everyone above.

must feel good to be an Anthropic co-founder > help build chatgpt at OAI by training on world's collective knowledge > keep model weights closed to extract max profit from every token you sell > leave and launch a direct competitor > spend years and millions lobbying washington on how dangerous your own models are > get designated a supply chain risk by the pentagon and fail to ban OSS anyway > pay $1.5bn to settle over 500k pirated books (while watching equity value rocket past $2tn) > predict you will soon create a "country of geniuses in a data center", warn that half of entry level white collar jobs will vanish, and sell the dream of curing cancer > have your staff call it presumptuous to expect your company to make money > meanwhile have your company buy back your shares above fair value, then sell again in a second tender and into the IPO > pledge 80% to charity, which your own s1 calls "voluntary, revocable" and "not legally binding" > keep a fixed 50.1% of the votes through one share, even after selling 98% > help pick the trustees who pick the board > park 5% of the company in a "public benefit fund" you co-run > have shareholders cover the private jet for personal use > call it a public benefit corporation anyway

Anthropic took out a 5-year loan to buy a car for $97,000. They bought a non-refundable maintenance plan for this car for next 5 years at $1,500 per month. They then made 6 monthly payments of $1,300 and sold the car for $16,000. Total cost over 6 months: $9,000 for maintenance plan and $8,000 for loan repayments = $17,000. $16,000 - $17,000 = -$1,000. So according to Anthropic maths, they almost broke even. 🤡 Given the success of this business model, Anthropic has agreed to buy another $500,000 of cars in the future because business is booming. 👍 Mom and Dad also put $130,000 into Anthropic's bank account, so that's proof they are really good with money.

They used the word ‘unusual’ but clearly this is sounds like an early exit strategy, what do they know?
Anthropic is planning an unusual IPO lockup, letting some early investors and employees sell shares well before the standard 180 days, per Bloomberg Planned release dates: Day 1: Some shares eligible for sale Day 27: More shares unlocked Day 48: Further shares released

~3 years ago I was at activision-blizzard through the Microsoft acquisition. The xbox org was a mess. Every week, reorgs and reshuffling of roles and responsibilities. Idk how any work got done. I quit shortly after, and years later, they’re still in the same spot.

yeah uh I don't think "search and rescue" is what this is going to be used for
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.
