Stakeholders convened by @HakiKNCHR and @pbikenya gathered for a vital multi-stakeholder dialogue on the protection of Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) in Kenya. Key discussions focused on critical challenges and actionable pathways for safety, including: 🔹 State of HRD Protection: Assessing the current landscape for defenders on the ground. 🔹 Violations & Trends: Examining documented violations, emerging patterns, and evolving risks. 🔹 Psychosocial Support: Addressing mental health and wellbeing dimensions of protection work. 🔹 Intersectionality & Vulnerability: Highlighting specific risks faced by women HRDs, environmental defenders, and marginalized groups. 🔹 Legal & Policy Reforms: Strengthening existing frameworks to ensure lasting institutional protection. Safeguarding defenders is essential to building a fair, legal and just society. #hakikwawotekilawakati @PrisonsKe @NCIC_Kenya @KenyasOmbudsman @Kenyajudiciary @OAG_Kenya @NGECKenya @KenyaGovernors @Whrdhub

Thanks for all support we are giving our comrades arrested on June 25th. However we should 1. Prioritize safety first. 2. Understand that silence is a traumatic response 3. Do not pressure them to talk, instead reassure them with calm statements. 4. Accept that the story may come later.

Men's Mental Health Awareness Month in June strives to shatter the harmful stigma that keeps men from seeking help for emotional struggles. With men dying by suicide at significantly higher rates than women, it is crucial to foster a supportive culture and emotional well-being.

Today, Inuka Kenya Ni Sisi! proudly launches its Strategic Plan 2025 and Beyond, a bold, people-centered blueprint to reclaim dignity, reimagine governance, and reignite civic agency. Guided by the spirit of “Matatizo ya Wakenya yanahitaji suluhu za Wakenya,” this strategy places citizens at the heart of transformation, from the grassroots to the digital frontlines. Through @Maskani254, we empower citizens to shape narratives and governance. Through the Kesho Initiative, powered by @theelephantinfo, we spark critical thought, storytelling, and bold conversations that reframe Kenya’s public sphere. @EAWellness Initiative nurtures civic catalysts to heal, rest, and rise again. And through movement building , we’re building a people-led movement that unites communities for action and accountability. This is not just a plan, it’s a call to rise, reclaim our heshima, and build the Kenya we deserve. Because when Kenyans stand together, transformation begins. #FromMadharautoHeshima

Very sad this young 'protester' was also butchered by live bullets from the Tanzania Intelligence and Security Service (TISS) which is run by @SuluhuSamia rogue son.

Replying to @VOCALAfrica_
@VOCALAfrica_ @LawSocietyofKe @AmnestyKenya welcome the release of Nicholas Oyoo and Bob Njagi last night after 38 days of their enforced disappearance. We extend our appreciation to the Kenyan and Ugandan governments at the highest level and the immediate former President of Kenya for their cooperation towards their safe return. We thank their families, Free Kenya movement colleagues, human rights defenders, journalists, diplomats and active citizens who have tirelessly campaigned for this moment. Let this moment signal an important shift towards upholding the human rights of East Africans anywhere in East African Community. We are facilitating their transfer to Nairobi and will give details of their arrival for family, friends and comrades to meet them.
