Affordable Protein should be a key topic at the Agriculture Summit. We are letting Kenyan children down and setting them up for life long being behind on many markets including brain development and height. Many especially urban poor are surviving on carbs like chips mwitu.

By the way my rule in life is I do not voluntarily participate in my own suffering. And I will ditch anything that tries to make me a willing participant in my own suffering. If I can't exit immediately, just know I'm planning my exit and I will exit at some point.

An unwritten rule of life is that after every prolonged period of hardship and uncertainty, there is going to be a period when you are going to achieve quantum leaps across multiple areas of your life. The only requirement is that you do not give up on yourself.

In the book, Animal Farm, Napoleon & Squealor rewrite history so much such that yesterday's sin becomes today's virtue that older animals who remember the truth begin to doubt their own memories.
Life imitates art. And vice versa.

It's the 5th app I installed on a new phone this week, and the only one anyone argues about. Here are the other 4.

The way Kenyans have stood up for Burundians, gave me so much hope.
Truly Kenyans are my favorite people.

When Companies make decisions about where to put their investments, the dispute resolution regime in place is key because disputes arise all the time. The “Mambo Matatu, pack and go” approach where the President can just shut down your business is very bad for investment and consequently, job creation. It is why we in Linda Mwananchi insist on a return to the Rule of Law. Thats our Plan!

THREAD!
For weeks, @marilynkamuru and I have been watching, discussing and working on how we can put Kenyans back at the centre of Kenya's politics to shape our national agenda.
We're happy to introduce @TujipangeSasa a tool built to do exactly that! tujipange.com/

The reason Ruto keeps asking for Sifuna's agenda is because the concept of constitutionalism and rule of law is so foreign to him, anashindwa hizo ni matakataka gani mnaita agenda.

He only controls them because parliament allows him. Not because the constitution allows him.
So remember to vote carefully for your MPs.
You control parliament. You control Kenya.

No, In sorry. You cannot order the public to show an alternative when, the people who asked for this job, campaigned for this job, said they could do the work. It's their job to come up with alternatives. Not ours. And they are paid very well to do it.
We cannot all be politicians and civil servants. We are all doing our work in our corners. Food has to be grown. Children need to be taught. Sick need to be treated. Lights need to be on. We are WORKING. We don't have the energy, time and salaries to do both our work and theirs.
So no. We are not bringing numbers. I should not have to study and talk like a civil servant for me to act as a citizen. And we have every right to rage bait when your government invades our payslips, and taxes everybody for a few of you to enrich yourselves.
We are making demands as citizens to the people who called themselves competent* to occupy the positions they occupy. Don't lecture us. Technically, we're the employers here.
The thing @DavidNdii is saying something fairly straightforward: we simply don’t have enough public money for everything we need to do. So, where something can sustainably be funded by the market, why insist on funding it entirely from the budget?
You can disagree with him. But then provide the alternative.
Show us exactly what you would cut—and from which budget lines. Show us how much that saves. Show us what taxes or revenues you would raise, from whom, and by how much. Then show us how those choices finance universities, water, power, roads, irrigation and the other services a rapidly growing country needs.
Because Kenya is adding roughly 3 babies every minute. Those children will need schools, healthcare, housing, infrastructure and, eventually, millions of jobs.
And don’t conveniently ignore the rest of Ndii’s argument.
He is talking about scaling production—dairy, coffee towards 200,000 MT, irrigation to increase agricultural output and reduce food imports, digital-services exports, infrastructure investment and attracting enormous private capital, including the proposed $20B petrochemical complex. He is making the case that these investments can expand production, exports, incomes and jobs.
I knew that @DavidNdii was a good advisor ( but I felt as though he didn’t have skin in the game). I was wrong. He is unusually candid about the fiscal and political constraints Kenya faces. You don’t have to agree with his prescriptions. Attack the assumptions. Attack the numbers. Show where the model fails. Then put a better, costed model on the table.
But “private capitalists are evil” is not an economic alternative because as you know Kenya’s problems are too serious for that kind of analysis.
Bring the numbers. Bring the alternative. Don’t just rage bait. This is probably one of the most frustrating thing about our opposition today - no alternatives for the country.
It’s why I’ll back @WilliamsRuto for Tutam. They actually bring rigor and vision for a country that needs them both.

You see how they carelessly cut trees, grab forests and public spaces? You see how the deprive you right to enjoy public spaces and basic needs- health, education, social amenities?
These are some of the physical manifestation that we can see.
Now think about the corresponding social psychological damage, including what is transmitted by words that are spoken with hate, spite, and hubris. Of negative ethnicity and faux religious beliefs. How they shamelessly corrupt moral values, openly bribing everyone - from religious leaders to professors to citizenry to criminals/goons. They kill and main without feelings.
When the final day comes for us to mourn what was, let's not ever ask how we go there.
