Long but worth the read: Obama’s Two Rallies, One Pattern. Barack Obama stood in Cleveland today and said: “I don’t recall anybody campaigning on sending masked agents running through our streets. I don’t recall anybody talking about law-abiding citizens being arrested and detained and shot and killed. You did not ask for that. That’s not what we have to do to get our borders under control.” Hyperbole would be an overstatement. This is something colder. A falsehood stated calmly, as if it were obvious. He spoke those words as though the country had never spoken, as though November 2024 had never happened. It did. The American electorate chose a man who campaigned explicitly on mass removal, on ending catch-and-release, on treating the border as a line again. Millions asked for exactly what Obama now pretends nobody asked for. He knows. He simply prefers the version where the voters are the ones confused. While he spoke, the dead stayed dead. Laken Riley. Rachel Morin. Jocelyn Nungaray. Kayla Hamilton. Aiden Clark. Megan Bos. Anjelica Amaya Briceno and her three-year-old daughter. Sheridan Gorman. Each of them was killed by someone who crossed into this country illegally during the Obama years or the Biden-Harris years. And in Gorman’s case, the killer was flagged, released, rearrested, released again, and protected by an ignored detainer. These were not edge cases that slipped past a careful system. They were the predictable output of a system that treated illegal entry as a paperwork problem. Obama said not one word about them. No name. No grief. No acknowledgment that any of it happened on his watch or his successor’s. The families of the murdered heard a former president describe their suffering as a misunderstanding, as if their loss were a rounding error in someone else’s argument. To be exact about the one place where his claim touches something real: Alex Pretti and Renee Good were U.S. citizens killed during federal enforcement operations. Those deaths were tragic, and no serious person shrugs at them. They were also alleged use-of-force cases inside a massive operation, not evidence of a program aimed at citizens. Obama seized on those rare, contested moments and built his entire speech around them, while the far larger record, the Americans killed by people his administrations admitted and released, went unmentioned. That is not exaggeration. That is inversion. The man who spent eight years as the face of interior enforcement now acts as though enforcement itself is the scandal. The same day, in Michigan, he stood next to Abdul El-Sayed. El-Sayed’s family connections run through the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. His mother’s organization was later designated for ties to bin Laden’s precursors. He refuses to break with Hasan Piker, who said on camera that America deserved 9/11. Obama did not land in that photograph by accident. He placed himself there. The Democrat Party is not carrying a radical faction it cannot control. The radical faction is the party, and Obama is the man who built the structure it stands on. He is not a traitor, a traitor leaves a side. Barack Obama never joined one. He came in opposed, governed opposed, and now works openly against the country whose highest office he held. He is an adversary who happens to remember what the presidency looked like from the inside. Anyone who still echoes him, still repeats his lines, still treats his erasure of the murdered as statesmanship, that person is not a fellow American with a different view.
