The details in this story are way worse than I expected.
For months, the Peltola campaign denied any involvement with this. But the reporting here describes a substantial effort by operatives aligned with the campaign to recruit spoiler candidates, including searching the state far & wide to find the perfect decoy "Dan Sullivan" ... specifically to draw votes away from Republican incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan.
Deliberately trying to mislead voters instead of earning their support is exactly the kind of cynical politics that erodes trust in our elections. Democrats need to start calling out their own side.
