If I’d never been to Ukraine, I’d probably oppose it. From afar, to those quite tired of Washington's games, Ukraine might look like another endless U.S. war—pushed by media spin, the defense industry, and Hunter Biden’s Burisma connections. Even Hollywood seemed in on it until they got bored. And I’d think the 2014 Maidan Revolution was staged by some State Department lady handing out cookies. But up close? The truth isn’t what you’d expect. 🧵[1]⤵️

Thanks to the generous audience of Chicago’s WGN Radio, which tunes into my Ukraine report every weekday for more than two years now, we were able to deliver anti-drone protective gear to frontline Ukrainians in Donbas. I especially thank Mr. Peter Jurgenson, whose support enabled us to buy the Oberih drone-jammer. Oberih in Ukrainian means “protective amulet,” and generous Americans are providing such protection to Ukrainians who stand at the frontline in this good vs evil struggle. —Joe Lindsley, American reporting from Ukraine every day, WGN Radio With: —Max Burtsev, @McSimba , Kharkiv civil society entrepreneur and founder of NGO Volonterska.UA
—Jim Gamache, American businessman and volunteer from Chicago We welcome support for further protective amulets here: ukrainianfreedomnews.com/don…

12 books on Product Discovery (that will never stop paying off) +Key Lessons: 1. Inspired by Marty Cagan A holy grail for every PM. At least half of your ideas are just not going to work. We need to discover the product to build, and we need to deliver that product to the market. 2. Continuous Discovery Habits by @ttorres The Product Trio must interview customers together at least once a week. The book also introduces the legendary Opportunity Solution Tree. 3. The Mom Test by @robfitz A masterclass on interviewing customers. They won't tell you the truth if you don't ask the right questions. 4. Jobs to be Done by @Ulwick People don't want a quarter-inch drill. They want a quarter-inch hole. Focus on understanding the job the customer is trying to get done. 5. The Four Steps to the Epiphany by Steve Blank This book introduced the concept of customer development and influenced many other authors. Understanding customers and their needs is key. 6. Value Proposition Design by @AlexOsterwalderand others A comprehensive guide on designing your value proposition. Focus on jobs, pains, and gains. Don't forget about emotional and social aspects. 7. Testing Business Ideas by David Bland and @AlexOsterwalder A wild compendium of experiments, templates, and best practices for different product types and industries (B2B, B2C, software, physical products, etc.). 8. Sprint by Jake Knapp A legendary five-day process focusing on how to ideate and validate assumptions within just one week. My tip: Consider interview customers before starting the Sprint. 9. The Lean Product Playbook by @danolsen Everything you need to know about achieving the product-market fit step-by-step. I particularly loved the Opportunity Score and Dan's emphasis on UX. 10. Escaping the Build Trap by @lissijean It's not about shipping features from the list. Focus on outcomes, not the output, to deliver real value to your customers. 11. Innovator's Playbook by @nathanbaird_nb One of my favorites. Nathan explains how to apply a design-led approach to understand customers, distill their insights, come up with new ideas, and validate those ideas by experimenting. 12. The Right It by @Pretotyping A must-read for every PM. I loved the concept of pretotyping. Say it with numbers, ask for Skin in the Game, and collect Your Own Data. Hope that helps. What did I forget?

I've spent many months of this war in Kharkiv, just 30 miles from Russia. It's so close to the invaders that missiles often land before the air-raid alarm can sound. I've spent many an hour in shelter with these brave, cheerful people, and they've become some of the best cooperators in the fight for freedom. Thanks to @McSimba and the Volunterska team for your work, friendship, and advice for victory. Thanks to Gamlet, the "Banksy of Ukraine," for the inspiration and honest talks. and thanks to the brave and cheerful staff of Kharkiv hotels, whom, as we saw yesterday, put their lives at risk. After victory I will write about these people and their amazing spirit.

Russians just now deliberately hit a cafe and killed 48 civilians, wounding other 6 people in the village of Groza, Kupyansky District, Kharkiv Oblast. There is a 6-year-old boy amongst those killed. The number of victims is still counting.
