ಊರಲ್ಲಿ ಗೇರುಕಟ್ಟೆ ಅಂತ ಒಂದು ಹಳ್ಳಿ ಇದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ 'ಮನ್ಶರ್' ಹೆಸರಿನ ಕಾಲೇಜ್ ಶುರು ಆಯ್ತು. ಶುರು ಆಗಿ 2-3 ವರ್ಷದೊಳಗೆ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಇರುವ ಊರಿನ ಆ ಭಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಮನ್ಶರಾಬಾದ್ ಅಂತ ಅವರೇ ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರು.
ಹಾಗೆ ಗುರುವಾಯನಕೆರೆಯ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಣ್ಣದಕೆರೆ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಕೇರಿ ಇತ್ತು. ಈಗ ಅದು ಸುನ್ನತ್ ಕೆರೆ ಆಗಿದೆ.

A representation was submitted to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri @DKShivakumar today, requesting that the proposed Kadugondanahalli Metro Station on Namma Metro’s Pink Line be renamed “Arabic College Metro Station.”
The request seeks to reflect the geographical identity and local significance of the area through an appropriate station name.
Former Minister Shri @BNagendraINC and HESCOM Chairman Janab Azzam peer Khadri were present on the occasion.
ನಮ್ಮ ಮೆಟ್ರೋದ ಪಿಂಕ್ ಲೈನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವಿತ ಕಾಡುಗೊಂಡನಹಳ್ಳಿ ಮೆಟ್ರೋ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ‘ಅರೇಬಿಕ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮೆಟ್ರೋ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ’ ಎಂದು ಮರುನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಕೋರಿ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಡಿಕೆ ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಭೌಗೋಳಿಕ ಗುರುತನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮನವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋರಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಜಿ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಿ. ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ಹೆಸ್ಕಾಂ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಜನಾಬ್ ಅಜ್ಜಂಪೀರ್ ಖಾದ್ರಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

Lithium, nickel, cobalt…these are essential for EVs, batteries, electronics and defence. Yet, we remain heavily dependent on imports of refined materials.
To address this, the Cabinet has approved a scheme to change this.
Key highlights:
New critical mineral processing plants.
Capital subsidy to boost investment.
Greater domestic value addition.
Stronger supply chains.
The principle is clear...India must have capabilities to build technologies of the future!
