8 years. 8 years Meta Bro has served me for any and all social media and gaming, but as I got older I started being more loose with it and on other platforms like Discord or Letterboxd I’ve used my name Major. Saying this all to just send this name off the way I feel is right

wildwood is one of those animated films that, like spiderverse or arcane or klaus before it, makes you walk out of it thinking that animation is one of the greatest mediums of art and storytelling ever achieved I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it

The 100% is not a stunt. This is one of the best film going experiences of my life. I am in awe of how much this movie respects its craft and its audience of all ages. If you care about this sort of art existing, it is worth it to see this movie in theaters IMMEDIATELY.
The forest is buzzing, and so are the critics! 🌲Wildwood is at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. In theaters Friday. Get tickets now (link in bio). #Wildwood

#Wildwood is a MASTERPIECE!!!!
In a world increasingly filled with AI, there’s something beautiful about a film this ambitious and handcrafted with love and care in every little detail. This is the kind of stop motion film that will be remembered for years to come.
This might be Travis Knight’s best work yet and it’s easily one of my favorite films of the year. There’s such a massive, gorgeous fascinating world to explore, It’s full of fantasy that takes its time getting you through every breathtaking detail while also tackling heavy themes of grief, trauma, sacrifice, and most importantly learning to let go.
It might be a bit much for younger kids, but I absolutely loved its mature themes and emotional depth. A stunning reminder of what filmmaking can achieve through genuine artistry. Passion and craftsmanship. 10/10🔥

WILDWOOD is a sweeping, handcrafted fantasy rich in theme, gorgeous at every scale, and emotionally heavy. It’s the most impressive thing Laika has made and the animation medium has produced. It’s a reminder of how invaluable the human touch is in artistry. My review for @nerdspin_: nerdspin.com/wildwood-review…

Brilliantly directed by TRAVIS KNIGHT, “WILDWOOD” is a majestic & exhilarating cinematic experience, an exquisite blend of stop-motion & CGI animation & a wildly-imaginative triumph! It’s not just a great animated movie; it’s a great movie, period! SEE IT 10/23!

WILDWOOD was worth my late night watch. It was so visually pleasing to see. My favorite parts were all the various running or chase scenes. It had a mix of fun and heartfelt moments. The story wasn't anything new but it was still a great watch and definitely crafted with care.

I have to double down on something I said about #Wildwood last night, and it’s about how right at the dawn of new technology, you often get a masterpiece from the old.
Just as jet fighters emerged, you had piston-engined monsters like the P-51 Mustang.
Just as the likes of Pixar movies were about to take off, you had that masterful ballroom scene from “Beauty and the Beast” that awed us all.
Well, now with AI taking off, you have the team at @LAIKAStudios gift us something truly amazingly human-made.
I woke up thinking about this film. Don’t sleep on it.

#Wildwood is truly epic! It’s breathtakingly beautiful to view, has impeccably crafted set pieces, deeply emotional and shockingly dark at times (families with young kids, be cautious). Please support this! Also, Carey Mulligan’s voice work is as rich as it is terrifying.

WILDWOOD is absolutely mesmerising, it’s the highest form of art that you could possibly get in cinema. The fact that this film is handcrafted and put together shows the true power of what human art can do. I was consistently blown away by the scale and sheer technique on display never mind the harrowing story that was presented to me.
It’s dark and disturbing and even with what its marketing may imply, might not be suited for younger children. This is not a tale of whimsy and fun, but one of pain and grief. Despite all of that, I at times felt as though its world was a little cluttered. So many characters and individual dramas are set up that I feel as though this world was not done justice to in just one film. It’s hard not to be swept away by the visuals and talent at hand though 🍃 #Wildwood

#Wildwood is Amazing.
The fact this was done by hand is just one of the most incredible feats of artistry in filmmaking I’ve ever seen. The story is great, the performances are great, it’s epic in scope. It truly is an exceptional piece of filmmaking.
There is dynamic emotional range, jump scares, soaring landscapes, battles breaveheart style battles, depth and humor cinematic heartfelt emotions and a loving attention to detail that really is unmatched. This is a film that deserves to be seen in theaters. A TV at home isn’t going to do this justice.
This is special. There are those films that you remember as kid that inspired a sense of wonder; a sense of adventure, and this is one of those films. It’s about family; a love letter to the Pacific Northwest, and what it means to be responsible, dedicated, and knowing when to never give up; and when to let go; and even when to keep holding on.
One of my favorite films of the year and definitely one of the greatest stop motion films ever made.

Travis Knight’s WILDWOOD might be the most alive I’ve felt watching a film all year. An absolutely staggering cinematic accomplishment. Sixteen years of sublime craftsmanship, time-consuming stop motion animation and heartfelt storytelling have paid off. I was a puddle by the end of this film. I’m honestly kinda speechless. I’m gonna need a minute but the review is coming.

#Wildwood can only be described as beautiful. In animation. In score. In story. In voices. In ambition. Beautiful. A pitch perfect, if slightly darker than expected, epic. The best animation of the year and possibly decade. Engrave the award now.

Got to go to this screening and even as a previous animator at Laika I have no idea how they pulled this one off. It's insane. If you love movies, go see Wildwood.
