I remember this vividly. I was 10 years old and already a huge Giants and Yankees fan. But I was rooting for the Mets to win it. Watched that series with my mom, who passed less than 2 years later from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
1986: OTD 40 years ago: #NYGiants had a key MNF matchup w/ Washington but the fans used their portable TVs/radios to follow along w/ Game 7 of the World Series at Shea. The crowd would burst into cheers randomly on Mets' HRs as they beat Boston & NYG won 27-20

Prolific character actor Richard Riehle has passed away.
People will (rightly) mention Office Space and Casino, but he logged 440 credits; he was an ultimate “I know that guy” actor.
He even set up all-timers, like this Tommy Lee Jones moment in The Fugitive.
Office Space, The Fugitive, Casino and countless others. 430 film credits on IMDB. Legendary character actor. RIP

Truly humbled and honored to write about a great friend and a great family. The column is about dying, yes, but mostly about living.

No, it isn’t. No one with a working brain needs anyone to tell them how to handle timeouts and a running clock.
