Chelsea kept theory first clean sheet of the Premier League season. I went into detail how Xabi's off ball shape and player application made that happen. The tactics Xabi used to make Chelsea score and the rotations that Xabi is building little by little in possession. On my YouTube channel. Link below๐Ÿ‘‡

Chelsea struggled to play against Spurs and got dominated by a good De Zerbi team. Chelsea didn't look open at all and did defend well, but mistakes cost Chelsea the game. How Spurs got the better of Chelsea, and what Alonso needs to work on here ๐Ÿ‘‡

We shouldn't have lost against Spurs. Spurs did play well. They didnt threaten much though. We defended well but we self destructed. Anyways the table shows were right in the areas of where were meant to be. And we just need to look forward and also realise were still not title challengers anyways. It helps so it doesnt look worse
Early days but Chelsea end the weekend in 5th.

Rewatching and im not sure how people think Palmer was poor because he had so little of the ball and the times hes got it. Hes had a shot on goal. Created 2 Rogers shots on goal including a beautifully deft one that Rogers tested Kinsky with. He was poor in the challenges thag he made to Fernandes and the other yellow yes but not poor in the game. He didnt get enough of the ball to do damage.

Now, the issue later on was that as Spurs controlled the game, Chelsea started going long. Then the players started doing this for no reason. They are in a good position to work the ball out of a tight area and attack, and instead they just bail and think Rogers is going to work wonders and hold up the ball every time with inaccurate balls like this.
So rewatching. Definitely Alonso did infact intend on Chelses to play short and build up from the back. Infact, the first 20 minutes. Most of the build up was short. Balls were funneled through the wide areas with the Fullbacks. Hato received the ball here first from Penders but he doesnt make anything of it. Should have been composed enough to control the ball and play out with the space he had. 2nd Josh receives the ball and does drive with and brings Chelsea out of pressure and finds Palmer who goes direct to Neto. The directness definitely came after trying to build up first. Then attack the space like Neto did but. Chelsea started to also go long but it was ao off. Not really even Penders like that but others. Clearances were wild without direction from the defenders and midfielders. Didn't give Rogers and co a fighting chance to get the ball too

๐Ÿšจ Josรฉ Mourinho: โ€œI dedicate this win to the Barรงa fans who did NOT LET ME TAKE MY NAP in the hotel today. They came to the hotel and kept singing all day, I couldn't take my nap. Well, I didn't nap, but I did beat their team. A BIG HUG TO THEM.โ€ ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ˜˜

GOAT. They said hes finished. I always knew he juat needed top players to work his thing man. Football Brain
๐Ÿšจ Josรฉ Mourinho: โ€œI told Camavinga: go and attack the spaceโ€. โ€œIt's difficult for any attackers to attack space against Barcelona, the only solution is to do it with your midfieldersโ€. โ€œWhen your attackers do it, Barca's defense is prepared and coached for that, and your attackers end up being offside, or the pass ends up being cut by Joan Garciaโ€. โ€œThe solution is to use midfielders like Camavinga and Bellingham to break that line, and it workedโ€.

Madrid have been so mature handling Barcelona. The tackles the defensive shape. The on the ball calmness to play out of their press and the quality of their best players on the ball to really put their quality into this game They have worked so hard and now at the end of the game pressing instead of sitting back and not allowing Barca to get up the pitch the whole 5 minutes extra time. Massive Win.
