Replying to @UKLabour
@UKLabour's misleading claims on the defence spending are being exposed. Thank you to @BenWallace70 for exposing the accounting trick.
@Telegraph: "Sir Ben said that including intelligence spending gave the false impression that the Government was spending 2.7 per cent of GDP on defence in 2027-28, when 2.3 per cent was spent in the Ministry of Defence (MoD)."
We have run down our defences so much in the past 30 years, but this current refusal to do the right thing is without precedent given the threats facing us.
Wonder if @JohnHealey_MP will resign again? 😅

To think that the Prime Minister used to be so strongly against free movement of people in the EU as it was bad for his constituents. Is Leigh that far from Makerfield? (No, part of Leigh went into Makerfield in the last boundary changes).

The Home Secretary today refused to commit to keeping terrorists off our streets and in detention centres while awaiting deportation.

The Scottish Greens aren't tree-huggers anymore.
Their co-leader Ross Greer now wants Hamas's political wing taken off the terror list.
Hamas was banned in full for a reason: there's no real line between its "political" and military wings.
A dangerous idea. I'll fight it every step of the way.

I asked Labour MP Dawn Butler why she's demanding my constituents pay more tax to fund "reparations".
She wouldn't answer, but called me a "racist" in the Commons.
It's not right to make people pay "reparations" when they've done nothing wrong. Name-calling doesn't change that.

Higher inflation isn’t just driving up prices, it’s increasing the benefits bill. Either way, it’s working households who end up picking up the tab.
Conservatives will cut the benefits bill, protect those who need help and get Britain working again.

Burnham blames Brexit for small boat arrivals, his own Home Secretary says that is nonsense.
Interesting difference between the PM and his Home Secretary over Brexit and small boats.
Andy Burnham today blamed the crisis on Britain losing its EU returns agreement after Brexit but Shabana Mahmood has previously rejected that argument.
She told the Home Affairs Committee in February: "I am sure there are lots of other debates to be had about the rights and wrongs of Brexit, but is Brexit responsible for the boats? I do not think that is true...
“The idea that this has happened because we have lost the access to Dublin and the returns agreement with the EU - I think that is too much of a stretch.”
In September, she went further, arguing that under Britain's one-in, one-out deal with France “more returns have happened than ever was the case under the Dublin arrangements, when we were still members of the EU".
She also warned that it was “a mistake to see the EU’s new pact as some sort of new silver bullet” that would eliminate Britain's migration problems.

Sadiq Khan wants banks to stay in London, but is too frightened to criticize Labour's forthcoming bank tax hikes.
Why should internationally mobile banks pay almost twice as much tax as banks in the US and be regarded as some kind of piggy bank for HMRC?
“Hundreds of thousands of jobs are created in the financial sector, including the banks. I want them not just to stay here, but I want banks to come here as well," said Khan, while refusing to criticize Labour's new attack on banks.
Khan needs to decide whether his job is sticking up for London or sticking up for the Labour Party.
