What’s next in renal cell carcinoma? From the Trials in Progress session at #ASCOGU2026, here are several ongoing RCC trials that caught my attention. The pipeline includes HIF-2α combinations, bispecific antibodies, radiopharmaceuticals, and emerging ADCs.

🚨 New in Multiple Myeloma FDA approves teclistamab + daratumumab hyaluronidase for relapsed / refractory multiple myeloma after ≥1 prior line (PI + IMiD). This is based on MAJESTEC-3, showing a striking PFS benefit. 🧬 Trial design Patients randomized to: 🔹 Teclistamab + Daratumumab SC vs 🔹 Investigator choice • Daratumumab + Pomalidomide + Dex (DPd) • Daratumumab + Bortezomib + Dex (DVd) 📊 Key efficacy results • Median PFS: Not reached vs 18.1 months • HR 0.17 (p <0.0001) • OS HR 0.46 Translation for clinic: 👉 Deep disease control with BCMA bispecific + anti-CD38 combination early in relapse. ⚠️ Important toxicity signals • Cytokine release syndrome (CRS) • ICANS • Hypogammaglobulinemia • Infections Drug available via Tecvayli-Talvey REMS program. 💡 Takeaway Bispecific antibodies are moving earlier in the treatment sequence and may reshape relapse therapy in myeloma. #OncoTwitter #MedTwitter #MultipleMyeloma #HemeOnc @OncoAlert @ASCO @myESMO

QoL vs Survival: Older Patient's Preference & Outcomes ◾️Priority: Extending survival (8.4%) vs Maintaining QoL (71.7%) vs Neutral (20.0%) ◾️No difference in survival, hospitalizations, or toxicities between groups 👉Dividing patients into "Survival" vs "QoL" groups is difficult—most hope for both. Since AEs directly dictate QoL, continuous communication and treatment adjustment are vital to honor each patient's true wishes. 🔗jamanetwork.com/journals/jam… @JAMAOnc @OncoAlert

Though CAR T cells have been effective against certain blood cancers, they have not been for solid tumors. Now, a new form of highly sensitive CAR T cells aims to overcome one of the biggest barriers in solid tumor immunotherapies—the way solid tumors lack a single, widely shared surface target. By engineering an ultra-sensitive receptor capable of detecting even the smallest amounts of the protein CD70, researchers report in Science they were able to eradicate kidney, ovarian, and pancreatic tumors in preclinical models. The findings provide a potential strategy to treat a broad range of solid tumors. scim.ag/400e2WU

August 1 marks #WorldLungCancerDay — a time to reflect, raise awareness, and recommit to changing the future of lung cancer. We’ve made meaningful progress, but there’s still a long way to go. Each patient, each study, each step forward brings us closer to better outcomes. Let’s keep climbing. 🌍🫁 #LCSM #Oncology @LungCancerRx @YoungLungCancer @IASLC @EGFRResisters

Excellent @JCO_ASCO editorial by @SagarLonialMD @myelomaMD about CARTITUDE-1, with 5-yr PFS of 33% off all treatment in myeloma! 👏 for CAR-T. Most thoughtful discussion of cure in #MMsm I’ve read… the MGUS-like MRD-positive phenotype 👇 needs to be part of the discussion!
A Cure, a Cure, My Kingdom for a Cure: patients with refractory myeloma can achieve long-term remissions following CAR-T therapy, earlier use may cure more. Thoughtful @JCO_ASCO commentary @SagarLonialMD ascopubs.org/doi/full/10.120…

#Myeloma Paper of the Day: Bispecific antibodies as bridging to BCMA CAR-T cell therapy for relapsed/refractory myeloma achieve higher response rates (100% in 52 pts) vs. other options & increase clonality in the CD4+ and CD8+ T cell post_CAR T: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3944…. #mmsm
