WATCH | ActionSAโs President Herman Mashaba said he was never against policies that were pro-black like the BBBEE policy, he said he was just against how the ANC used it to only benefit them and their cadres.
So, the leadership is allowing illegal immigrants into South Africa for nje. What must too can happen? Unemployment is already in the toilet for Southas. We will die and then your kids rejoice from being over ruled in their motherland? I'm confused everyday from these decisions

Below is a thread of videos documenting the places I visited.

Molo Fikile, this is the right speech. It is 15 years too late.
The decline did not start with the MK Party or the GNU. It started at the ANC's peak.
These are the moments when this speech should have been given:
2007โ2008, Polokwane and the recall of Mbeki. Factionalism became the main business of the movement, and COPE was the first split. That is the "internal divisions" you mention today.
2008, the start of load shedding. It was the first big sign that the state was failing at basic infrastructure.
2009โ2011, the rise of service delivery protests. Communities were saying then exactly what you're saying now: no water, no refuse removal, no roads, councillors who don't show up. This was the moment for this speech.
2012โ2015: Marikana, the Gupta landing at Waterkloof, the Nkandla findings, and Nenegate. Each one was a chance to choose accountability over loyalty. Each time the ANC defended the individual instead of the people.
2016, the loss of Johannesburg, Tshwane and Nelson Mandela Bay. That was the last clear warning before things became irreversible.
2018, VBS. Limpopo municipalities lost money that should have gone to water and roads. We still feel it here.
If this speech had been given in 2011 and acted on, with consequences for failing councillors, cadres deployed on merit, and corruption prosecuted instead of protected, the ANC would not be at 31% today and many of our towns would not be in the state they're in.
And to be honest, the words are not new. "Renewal" and "self-correction" have been in ANC conference documents for over a decade. The problem has never been diagnosis. It has been implementation and consequences.
So the humility is welcome. But people will judge you on one thing: which councillors, mayors and officials face consequences in the next 12 months. Show us that, and the trust might follow.
[WATCH] THE ANC IS SELF INTROSPECTING
The people of South Africa have spoken. As the ANC we have heard that my people. We recognise that many South Africans who once placed their confidence in the ANC have chosen to support other parties. Others have withdrawn from electoral participation altogether. We recognise their concerns, we will not question their judgement or explain away their decisions.
We will confront the reasons why people who
once regarded the ANC as their natural
political home have become disillusioned with our movement. We must acknowledge that in too many communities local government has fallen short of the expectations of our people.
Where communities have experienced unreliable water supplies, failing infrastructure, uncollected refuse, deteriorating roads, corruption and poor municipal administration, they have every right to demand better.
Where public representatives have become distant from the people they were elected to
serve, the people have every right to hold them accountable. And where our own internal divisions have distracted us from the needs of communities, we must accept responsibility.
We cannot ask the people to trust us merely because of our history. Our history gives us a responsibility to serve. It does not give us an entitlement to govern. The ANC must earn the confidence of the people through what it does today and what it delivers tomorrow. That is the lesson of these elections. And it is a lesson we accept with humility.

You are correct that border control and deportations are National Government responsibilities. But that doesnโt mean municipalities have no role in addressing the consequences of unlawful immigration.
Undocumented foreign nationals also live and operate businesses within municipalities, where they use water, electricity, sanitation and other public services.
There are also serious problems involving hijacked buildings, illegal electricity connections, unpaid municipal services and criminal activities that municipalities cannot simply ignore.
Municipalities have powers to enforce building regulations, municipal by-laws, trading regulations and service connections. They can also work with SAPS and Home Affairs to address immigration violations and criminal activity.
A mayor cannot close a national border or deport someone independently. But a municipality can enforce its laws, tackle hijacked buildings and cooperate with national authorities.
The question is not whether councillors can close borders. Itโs whether they will use the powers they actually have.
And letโs be clear: criminality must be dealt with regardless of nationality or immigration status.

Border control and immigration policy are National Government responsibilities.
A municipality and/or Ward Councillor does not have any power to control our borders nor order deportations.
The people of South Africa will soon discover that political parties which campaigned on those promises in the Local Government Elections promised powers that municipalities do not possess.
All these dishonest parties simply played with the emotions and vulnerabilities of our people.
Voting is done now. The question you must ask the party you voted for is; will they close the border? The answer is NO!
If the ANC is clever enough, they'll have a coalition with ActionSA in Tshwane with Dr. Nasiphi as mayor. She'll actually make them look good by pushing KPIs to be fulfilled
Where are the 440ml bottles of lager mate @WindhoekBeer_SA??? It's been 2 weeks without me finding it them in Tshwane. A ke happy ka wena.
