I don’t know who needs to hear this, but sliced apples taste 10x better than a whole apple. It makes zero scientific sense but it’s just the truth.

Reading before bed sounds peaceful until the book gets INTERESTING, you tell yourself ONE MORE CHAPTER, and suddenly it's 2 a.m. and your alarm is only FIVE HOURS away.

This is hard when it’s a couple thing. However, as a parent, it’s really important to have an identity outside your kids and do these things. My job requires me to do nights away from home, fairly frequently; it’s not a big deal to me.

I know people paying £1300 - £1800 per kid for 4-5 days of nursery. A live in nanny if you have the room defo starts to make sense. Especially with demanding jobs and kids close in age

On this salary or any over £100k with multiple kids. Getting a live in nanny starts making sense. It’s cheaper. Tbh before 30hrs @ 9m came in. If you had multiple kids and had to be office based a nanny makes hella sense to circumvent these costs
the problem with a £200k salary is mortgage and childcare costs. 2 kids full time nursery with no subsidies is £4,000-£5,000 a month, that's already more than half of your £9,816 month net pay. Add mortgage, car, energy bills and more and it can go hand to mouth pretty quick

Someone needs to build an app called LinkedOut where employees share the real reasons they quit their toxic jobs.

I know it’s nuanced, but I often think about how a lot of my co workers went to elite schools and universities, to end up sitting next to little old me

So being 30 and not having had a kid yet, I can honestly say a lot of the changes women blame on pregnancy will actually just happen regardless in your late twenties/early thirties
